The thing is we’re likely stuck wearing masks for quite a substantial amount of time. And honestly to save a few old hats lives and people that had significantly self inflicted health problems (obesity, lifestyle diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.) that were on their slow way out costing the healthcare system billions, covid just accelerated things.

On the other hand I had a co-worker commit suicide, a friend that reached out and is struggling, it’s definitely having a toll on people, and none of these people were impacted financially. We’ve had two kids die in my state from child abuse that would have been picked up by teachers/school employees. Undoubtedly there’s numerous similar cases occurring. Teachers are the first line of defense, especially for vulnerable kids.

I’m not anti-mask, but it’s definitely having its toll, my state is one if not the most restrictive.

On a personal level it’s definitely slowed my dating/sex life and do miss the mirin looks from females in public, but it’s not that big of a deal and saving me a small fortune in dry cleaning etc.

It’s a pandemic, people die, a little thinning of the herd is natural.

what kind of logic is this? the assumption is if you are living with family, chances of contracting covid from each other are high with or without masks. you are free to do as you wish at home, as it is a private property. masks aren't going to completely prevent covid spread but if you do go out in public, the enforcement is to protect the public, not your family.

Seems like a strange study to me. It's another modelling study done by economy professors. Comparing raw case data in mask mandate states vs non-mandated states and drawing conclusions without taking into account the effect of other measures, the natural development of infections, test activity changes etc. Taking states with completely different measures and conditions and trying to extract how much of an effect masks had, or shutting businesses or schools is flawed to begin with.

I work as a manager in a fulfillment center for a company that sells (among 300 different items) kn95 masks, non-medical masks (the blue disposable ones), hand sanitizer, anti-bacterial wipes, medical gloves, cloth masks, about 70 different cloth masks that have different designs, teams, etc on them, and a whole host of other "sanitary essential" items.

I have to spend all day being a part of sending out all this chit making money profiting off of peoples' fear.

CDC says it's completely OK to not wear a mask as long as I'm eating at a restaurant indoor or outdoor. So apparently the virus doesn't infect when they are eating.

You realize the masks that you wear come from China on pallets with bird chit, cigarette butts, smashed crickets and bugs, have a thick layer of dust on them, and are made in some of the most unsanitary conditions you can imagine? KN95, N95, etc. All the masks we donated to the local hospitals, sheriffs departments, firefighters, all wear those masks.

No one thinks of it though. My dad used to manage Dominick's stores. when I was a kid I asked him why he washes all the tops of the cans of pop. He said you routinely find rat droppings on top of them in back of the warehouse.

N95s only filter as small as .3 micros while this virus is .15 microns which means it goes right through And I’m guessing it goes out of mask as you exhale too. Plus from what I read if you use masks the drop lots carrying it get cut up like a net so the virus spreads in more spots vs from one droplet. Also most people just wearing cloth which does nothing. No, you're right. And most masks you buy are from china and made in disgusting conditions and transported in even worse conditions (I deal with this), and people put if over their mouth constantly breathing in bacteria and dust/grime from the mask that was never washed.
