My 12 year old daughter is a softball player, and a gym buddy is a coach in the organization where she plays. The guy is a wealth of knowledge and his team is utterly dominant. (My kid is on a different team in the org) He has been overly gracious to my daughter with his personal time and has undoubtedly furthered her development. This is something that he can do for her better than I ever could, and he constantly offers to spend time with her. I am so grateful.

Chin up, homie. Here's to new beginnings, make it count.

I'd name it Big Red. Long story.

What's the point of MLB using cardboard cutout fans in the stands for baseball games? Why not use gigantic seat covers as new advertising space, and take advantage of the extra eyeballs watching TV broadcasts?

I'm pretty sure I've seen them doing that in the first few rows, at least in a couple highlights I've seen. It wasn't across the entire stadium though. It's a great idea though.

What's worse - catching a hangnail every day to the point that it bleeds for the rest of your life or a month of teaching your child at home while trying to work?

I'll take the hangnail for life after the last few days.

But the hangnail isn't over when you go to sleep. Arguably worse, in fact.

Since watching or listening to any form of news is self-induced rage/stress fest, how do you choose to stay informed of the issues that matter to you these days?

Honestly, I've completely pretended to be an ostrich, and bury my head in the sand. I see big events, like the explosion in Beirut, but I choose not to pay attention to much else. I will listen to world news and very local news - my neighbor is on town council - but I dont need or want to listen to regional/national news. I dont want the political twist on everything and it's near impossible to find that these days. I probably live a happier life that way ‐ ignorance is bliss. Amiright?!

I've had enough birthdays to be really, really experienced at them. I'm not into celebrating them, but like to take stock of life on those days and kick back. You kids will get older and you'll get it, I promise.

Going back in time, Winston Churchill, without question. Present day, maybe Clint Eastwood or James Woods. Their stories and perspective would be up my alley.

What's a non-disposable, non-food item that you go cheap on every time? For me it's hand tools like wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers etc. The price difference can be nuts and I've never noticed a significant difference at my use frequency.

Hey Mortar!! Happy Summer!

I go cheap on paintbrushes - use 'em once and then I'm done with them. And then this might not be a purchase - but I always go cheap on rental car reservations. I don't think there's ever been a time when I haven't been upgraded.

I'm working out at home with bands so some I like with DBs or weights suck with bands and vice versa.

Most: I love any lats, middle and lower back work with bands. Get a great time/tension combo and not feel any discomfort the next day.
Least: I do a floor bands chest press where the band is under my back and I pull up the sides. Its a killer on many levels - chews the hell out of my armpits as well as just plain tough to do.

52" Hustler zero turn. It's almost too big for my lawn, but I got it with the thought I'd have a bigger yard soon. Also only takes 20 minutes to mow vs 1:15 prior with the push.

I'd take the stars over the sea buddy. I'm a natural night owl so the hours would be great, and I can't swim for ****. That said there's too much math in astronomy, so I'd suck at the job.

I always say my favorite is Summer (I don't mind the heat and humidity at all, wanna move to Florida in fact), but when Fall is here, it's definitely my favorite. Nothing I love more than a hoody and a pair of shorts for comfort.

My daughter is a softball player who's been in a hitting slump for a solid month now and it's really getting to her head. Her coach took her after practice and did nothing but talk to her for a good 15 minutes. Completely changed her attitude and mindset. There are still good people left.

Hm, gambled on pricing for a new computer and won in the end getting a higher end pc with barely any cost.

What type of bottled water do you like and hate or do you not notice a difference?
