can you get big without lifting heavy as a natty ?

do you really need to lift heavy to build muscle srs ?

i personally think mind muscle connection is bullchit, the muscle to do the movement are always the same no matter what you think.

and by heavy i mean over 2 plates bench for reps, 3 plates squat and 4 deadlift

Define heavy. I primarily stick to 10 to 25 rep sets now. My bench press now for 3x12 is higher then what I used to bench for a 1 rep max back when I lifted for "strength."

In theory I only lift moderate to light weights.
You can progressively overload and build muscle in any rep range.

And mind to muscle connection is not bull****. There is a difference between moving a weight and contracting desired muscle under tension.

Yes but both are the most optimal. You can progressive overload with reps, time, etc.

I think training for strength though as a natty is a must for optimal gains. Intensity becomes the best way for a natty to grow vs. volume over time. Volume is great in the beginning, but after noob gains, you can just be spinning your wheels with 4x12s and 5x10s with multiple exercises when you can just do 1 all out set with one exercise for a specified weight.

This mind muscle connection stuff is only preached by roofers, every knowledgeable natty lifter prescribes medium volume with progressive overloads and deloads every few months.

Muscle confusion, lightweight, high volume, low frequency is all for food monkeys.

Which could be by more weight, more reps, high frequency, more sets, reduced rest periods...,

Problem then is you won't look aesthetic and you'd end up looking like a Samoan dude on a cut.

No, you dont need to lift heavy to build muscle and gain size. You need to lift heavy to build strength.

Mind muscle connection is not bullchit, the muscles involved have different ranges of effort and can be focused with concentration

You need to lift heavy. That doesn’t mean just 1-5 reps. You can lift “heavy” for 12-20 reps too.

You need to be getting quantifiably stronger, certainly over the long term if you're still using light weights (<2 plates for sets of 6-10 on bench).

In terms of rep ranges, no you don't need to go super heavy i.e. 3-5 reps.

In absolute terms, yes you need to do be lifting heavy. No natural has ever built up big pecs and arms benching 1 plate.

Yes you can be a pussy and use bitch weights for a while by doing things like reducing rest times but that quickly becomes impractical. At some point you'll just give out cardiovascularly before your muscles are anywhere near failure.

To work a muscle you need to put it in a position to do the work. There's heaps of knobs at the gym parroting chit like mind muscle connection but have chitty technique. You see them benching with a flat back completely taking their pecs out of the movement SMH.

Its not about the amount of weight you lift. Its about the quality of the reps. You can build muscle with any rep range (some rep ranges are better than others) if you put enough emphasis on the eccentric phase and explode through the concentric phase but you also have to utilize progressive overload and time under tension
