From what I remember the quran is just a journal/commentary of mohameds life being told in the 3rd person (to some extent) & borrows heavily from the OT, are you getting a similar impression?

Not really tbh, I appreciate the ritualistic rigid commandments of both religions & I'll get involved if im around relatives or friends that belong to those faiths but besides that tbh, man made religion in & of itself was made for a reason & that reason wasn't to be closer to God.

It's supposed to be the literal word of God passed thru the Archangel Gabriel to Mohamed (so he didn't write it). Also, from what I read, he was illiterate.

Some of the stores are identical (like Joseph and his brothers and Moses splitting the sea).
Some of them take the same story, but make a change (Solomon condemn in the Bible; In Quran, God says Solomon didn't do any wrong).
The Quran doesn't seem to condemn any of the old Patriarchs though and praises each of them equally (because the claim is they all came with the same message of worshipping one God).

This was my issue with the, the quran is the word of God but mohamed didn't write it because he can't read or write subject.

We are all expected to believe that mohamed perfectly dictated the quran to a 3rd party who wrote it down perfectly, without addition or subtraction, because, what?

The book itself says so? Lol.

The less said about the bible the better in this regard. I dont know the religious significance of the Talmud in Judaism, but some things in there in regards to Christian & thus Islamic beliefs kinda throw it all in a loop.
