They did not live together and had separate residences, not declared common law and not married yet when split up court orders BF to pay GF $50,000 per month.

Court determined co-habitation does not mean living together necessarily but even just a few visits is enough and therefore they are common law.

I am not MGTOW, but starting to think about it more

On another note in canada, a woman sucessfully annulled a marriage on the basis they never had sex but conversely a recent ruling determined that gay marriage is legit even without conjugation.

What is going on?

Yeah, anywhere with Common Law marriage this is the case. There are US states where this is the case as well.
