Same with my Vortex and Aimpoint Pro. You'll figure it out. If it drives you totally nuts, you can look into something with more of a reticle like an Eotech, a Holosun or I think Vortex has one (Spitfire??).

However, having a parallax free option is of utmost importance to me.
Second is field of view.
Third would be durability.
Fourth is compactness and weight. Something the size of an MRO would be ideal.
I think I may have to find a prism optic that meets these priorities or see a doctor?

Anyone here have experience with ear protection gear?
I'm trying to decide between the Howard Leight Impact Pro and 3M Peltor Sport Tactical 500.
Also, is it worth getting those 3rd-party replacement gel ear pads?
And if I only plan on going to outdoor shooting ranges to shoot my 10mm, will these reduce enough noise so that I won't need to use ear/foam plugs?

Screw 'em all honestly. Get something in ear or go with regular orange ear plugs. Hitting your gun stock with your ear gear gets very annoying. To top it off, over ear muffs are not comfortable in high temps.

The 500's you mentioned would be good for what it sounds like you are looking to do as well, NRR of 26 for over the ear, and pistol shooting.
The Leights are pretty good and almost universally liked for their quality vs price, but I find 3M products better across the board IME/IMO. And yes the gel cups are worth it.
If you start talking about long gun shooting and needing a cheek weld though, always (IMO/IME) double up with plugs under the muffs, at least on the side you'll be shouldering the stock to

The more people tout it and push it and get "braces" that are more and more clearly and obviously stocks pumped out there, the sooner it will happen.

What if you already have a honey badger AR? Is it illegal now?
If it's not illegal to own, is it illegal to shoot from the shoulder?
I have many questions.

No, don't do that. Obviously.
The real answer is "who knows"? Possibly nobody knows at this point. Anybody want to be a test case?

As sweet as SBRs are, ergonomically the comfort of a fixed stock surprised the hell out of me.

if i had to guess id say the ATF is trying to be sneaky here. they figure an all out ban on pistol braces will result in lawsuits and stalled time. but if they can successfully ban one specific type of braced pistol they can then use that as legal standing to force a full ban on all pistol braces.
maybe if they want to stop gun violence they should try not selling guns to criminals, and also make it illegal to murder people with firearms....

Fuk the ATF. If braces are banned just put a stock on it and call it a day. They can’t arrest everyone right ?

I keep Maglocks on all my ARs for that reason, completely CA legal like that, and if it ever came down to an extreme crisis it's a 2 minutes swap to a mag release.

And . . . that's why I just went ahead and SBR'd my former brace-equipped piphtol.
I mean, the NFA needs a serious enema, but who didn't see that coming as "braces" looked more and more like actual stocks? Who the phukk has square forearms?

If it’s that easy to convert that’s just more evidence of how dumb and useless the law is. If everyone just takes it nothing will change.
Or how about ATF doesn’t take a year to approve a stamp ?
Not the slightest bit worried about posting anything here btw, tons of people are posting way worse in other places I Lurk. Like merely suggesting not following the law on the misc is gonna get me jail time lol

Lower shelf receiver, drill the hole, install auto sear isn’t that hard either I guess. Never tried it and wouldn’t feel comfortable getting the auto sear shipped to my house even though it’s legal to buy.

sorry about the eyes. Farley, or maybe it was the internet, said try co-witnessing with rear iron sight. Never tried bc my issue was with a handgun red dot. Had a romeo5 but didn't want to open box and not be able to return it. Also, if I have to line two things up I might as well just use irons.

i have a strong suspicion that wont happen though
on a side note, a few months ago the ATF successfully banned the fostech origin "firearm" which was basically a braced 12 GA pistol. didnt bother going after other similar firearms like the AWS trench 12

makes me wonder if theyl go after the mossberg shockwave too.
