Srs question they are giving them out fat my job and my bosses say it’s mandatory. but I’ve never gotten one before I’m kinda scared to take one I may just claim I can’t because it’s against my religion and threaten to sue if they push it

State that you're happy to comply if someone will accept liability in case you're injured by the shot.

Dumbest question ever. They have about a 30% chance of working.

Depends on the year. It's hard to predict what the active strain will be, so they do their best based on statistic modeling, but some years it's very effective and other years less so.

Same here, work suggested I get one as I am sick too often apparently (1 week in dec, jan and august)
Never had one. Luckily a week later pharmacies said they won’t offer anything to non-priortity group for now (old, care workers and health care workers) so if work asks I can say just that

If you want to trust and go by the CDC, have at it
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/keyfacts.htm
about 50% of people get the flu shot, about 35K deaths in 2018-2019 and it mentions it had prevented about 3500 deaths. So for the 50% of people who have gotten vaccinated, it has prevented about 10% of flu deaths.
However there are also high societal costs to hospitalizations and doctor visits. And it also depends whether the flu shot strains closely match what is mostly circulating out there. You can still catch the flu even if you are vaccinated but it will drastically reduce your risk of death and hospitalization.
A company mandating a flu shot I think is a little bit much though.
Does it work? Depends what you mean by "work". If you mean does it reduce your chances of catching, spreading, being hospitalized and dying from the flu? Yes. But is it bulletproof? Far from it. Children tend to be more susceptible and at risk of the flu.

In general, yes. Unless you have a very good reason then it's stupid not to get one.

They work to increase your chance of covid by 30-50% per the department of defense study.

They work to increase your chance of respiratory illness by 400% per a 2019 study
They work to increase the spread of the virus because you are now shedding for 28 days post vaccination

They work to create revenue for big pharma
They work alright

Flu shots were first introduced as a vaccine against flu. But since it did not work and didnt prevent sh*t, thry cganged the namr from flu vaccine to flu shot and made it yearly once.
It still dosent do sh*t.
Dont get it.

it's impossible for them to work due to the duration of the manufacturing process and the inability to predict the strain
if getting it partially right worked, then wouldn't adults be immune to the flu by now by virtue of the fact that we've been exposed to so many strains over their lifetimes?
complete fukken scam
the only true flu shot is eating enough red meat that reach zinc sufficiency

Supposedly 40% effective on average at preventing you from getting the flu and makes the flu less severe for a much greater percentage.
Anytime you get an injection there’s risk. There’s risk in drinking tap water and driving your car. Vaccines have risk too but historically the risk has been pretty minimal and the societal benefit is great relative to that (not really with the flu but smallpox and other nasty ones).
I’ve never gotten a flu vaccine. I got the flu earlier this year in Feb and it was the sickest I’ve been in a decade+, but the treatment (especially) if you get it early is easy and I was good within a few days.

i got one today but i have to, if it was up to me I would skip the flu shot
vaccines are risk / benefits. I would get a vaccine for something like meningitis that could kill you if you got it. Something minor like flu or coronoa virus i would not get the vaccine.

With that said, I've had the flu-shot every year of my life since I was a kid. I've never had the flu.

But much more likely it's just mild flu-like symptoms which is a relatively common side effect, and ****s overreact and think "derp the flu shot gave me the flu"
