-education is sold like a private good
-widespread government corruption
-weak democratic institutions
-widespread civil unrest
-high levels of gun violence
-high levels of poverty among the working class
-crippling government debt

Nah, USA is still the GOAT country if your dream is climbing up economic class. Breaking out of poverty, taking a small loan to become entrepreneur, run a business successful enough into low upper class. Literally going from lower class right through middle to upper middle/lower upper class. I have not really seen that as an option anywhere else.
Way easier to do that in an egalitarian country like Australia.
