Is it self contained? Or was there a cliffhanger with the expectation of another season?

2 Brilliant seasons. It was too weird for the average pumpkin head but amassed a considerable cult following. It does end on a cliffhanger, but there is an interview with the writer where he goes into detail about what season 3 and 4 would have been and the ending he had in mind. It's a shame this was cancelled.

The best part in my opinion is how dynamic and complex some of the characters are. It isn't just black and white

Same. I think I made it through 2 seasons. The first season was solid, but it just kept getting more and more bizarre in season 2.

I’ll stick with sopranos, the wire, and succession.
