The key to not competing with 3rd world immigrants for jobs is having a specific skillset and qualifying for higher level positions than entry-level coder. Server management, cloud computing, senior developer, debugging none of that is done by H1b havers.

Zero jobs for CS? That sounds like an excuse. You have the ability to work from home. Have you tried applying out of state? I personally know two people that have found CS jobs in the last few months.
