Government hiring disabled people

So apparently government jobs can't discriminate against anyone with a disability and even have to give them preferential hiring in some cases. How tf would this work for someone with a condition like down syndrome or autism? If you bomb an interview, could you just claim you have autism and get the job? Just call all your coworkers "*******s" and "sloots" and claim it's your tourettes?

Wut? You cant hire someone with a disability if they dont, for example, meet the requirements. The disability discrimination laws just mean that an employer cannot use one's disability (but has all the others qualifications) to keep them from being hired. If you are missing your legs but you want to work a factory line job, then all you need is reasonable accommodations. Like....a stool or something

Preferential hiring probably does exist but I dont know how you would prove it

the only preference government jobs have are for veterans. 5-points added for veterans, 10 points for veterans that are disabled through the VA.

I work in govt. No fuking chit there is a guy with a stereotypical speech impediment answering the phones for a office LOLOLOLOL. Almost got into trouble when I answered the phone and he started talking. I almost burst into laughter cause my co-workers would always be fuking around on the phone. So I thought it was one of them messing around.

I narrowly avoided getty fired that day. By the grace of God I figured it out in time.

Not true. If you get hired federal govt jobs are required to accommodate EVERYONEs disability. By law. There are certain criteria for it but I've seen people who know how to game the system get all kinds of crazy ergonomic chit bought for them on govt dime to accommodate them.

Being disabled doesn't give you hiring pref but I have heard they do target in recruiting demographics to include disabled like minorities. Chit is crazy son.

This doesn't make sense because the government workplace isn't a meritocracy. Promotions are entirely based on time spent in a position.
