To Vought top dog executives it's all business.
I think this theory is valid.

If I had to guess I'd say season 3 is that Huey realizes she's as bad as Vought or is even in Voughts pocket. I also think that Butcher has nothing left to lose and is going to use the funding/political favors the old lady who supports the boys told him they've earned as a result to get his hands on some V and turn himself super.

I understand your point completely. Unfortunately, you are the one who don't understand much about media.

Most of it will never meet your standards.

A lot of LoTR didn't make sense.
A lot of GoT didn't make sense.
A lot of The Boys didn't make sense.
A lot of ALMOST EVERY SHOW doesn't make sense.

I'm talking to someone who actually thinks Starlight can fight Homelander. That's how new you are to this type of genre lol

Idk why anyone would feel bad for Homelander. He's a villain. The whole point is to take his kid away from him so the kid doesn't end up an unstoppable villain

Actually finale was really good IMO, best episode of the season for sure.

I think this season focused more on st0rmfront while further developing Homelanders character as a weird maniac that will eventually go off. Just guessing right now it's probably gonna be him versus his son in the end, where he loses because of his feeling towards his son.

The season wasn't as strong as 1st one, but it's still good.

I didn't really understand what's the girl popping heads off trying to achieve though.

Homelander ending scene made me LOL. Literally the best character.

Seemed to me like they wrapped up almost too much. Like they weren't expecting a Season 3 and culled off all the major story lines so that they could start fresh but then left just enough hanging to frustrate me that I don't see where it's going. And no cliffhanger at all.

Anyone else think to themselves that the whole girl beatdown thing was written just to appease the feminist crowd as well. Couldn't have a guy beating on a woman.
Alastair just confirmed to Neuman - a Vought mole - that they were responsible for outing St0rmfront and that they have damning chit on at least a dozen or so supes. Vought is on the brink of getting the government contract - remember the beginning where the defsec guy said that law-enforcement is getting V'd -, so they absolutely do not need the Church hanging around and trying to fuk everything up.

Plus, Neuman now can get her hands on the damning files, meaning she can now keep tabs on the fuked up Supes, Mallory, The Boys, and also possibly the defsec guy while maintaining a Vought-opposition stance and keeping Edgar updated on everything. So it actually makes sense.

Anyone??
If you rewatch the scene she's seen three times looking at victims who just exploded. One of them explodes after she turns her head towards the guy. Of course nobody expected - I definitely didn't - it to be her but it makes sense retroactively.

However I still have no idea how she managed to pop Rayner's head.

In the public eye, she's working to take down Vought.

But she's secretly working for Vought and killing anyone who comes to her trying to take down Vought..

Okay that actually makes perfect sense.

Also, I wonder if Deep will have a bigger role in this show lol. He is basically a pushover since the first episode.

Lol okay I see what you're doing. I thought you were arguing in good faith but you're just sucking off BetaAsPhuck who's just trolling me by misrepresenting my point.

On the slight off chance that you aren't taking the complete piss, BetaAsPhuck knows that my only point was that Starlight is at least as resistant to lasers as Storm was. My implication of the HL and Storm laser scene was that she could withstand a solid blast for a few seconds.

The only point I ever made about Homelander VS Starlight is that if he had to kill her, he would probably knock her around and tear her up rather than using his laser. I never indicated that she stood a chance against him.

Back to LoTR AND GoT, as I said before it's impossible to have a 100% logically consistent world and I'm not looking for perfection. In LotR and GoT up to the cartoony season 7, you have a fair idea of the powers in the world, the strengths, who is vulnerable to what, and so on.

Comparing the Boys to some of the GOAT media on earth and saying "hey they all have flaws so they're even" is a joke and again arguing in bad faith.

I'll just ignore you like I'm ignoring your lover. Keep guzzling his cum.

I've gotten a ton of reps ITT from smart guys getting my points and realizing Season 2 was trash. You're really offended I don't love your show but I'm only here because of how good Season 1 was.

There have been many cases of collateral damage and loss of accountability SHOWN already. Supes are extremely messy. So in real life this case would have been taken extremely seriously. Now imagine, a star witness is about to come in to blow the whole door open on Vault and at best, disband them and have all their assets taken. There is massive motivation by the supes to not have this person testify.

Suddenly, soon as he opens his mouth to blow the lid, his head explodes. Clearly done by someone with powers. If anything, prosecution and judges should be fukking FURIOUS of that kind of a chit show and at that point, in real life I'm 100% all super hero powers would be instantly banned. In real life a judge would never take Vought's word that "hehe it ain't me brah I have no reason to ruin the case hehe"

I would have loved to see a realistic situation where Vought was banned and the supes had to go underground.
Not sure if srs, one of the main plot points of the season was the supe terrorist threat and how HL/SF managed to rile up the public against them, while Neuman is leading the anti-supe narrative. Plus Vought already had the government contract involving supes on track - discussion between Edgar and secdef guy early in the season - and already had a fukup when Starlight leaked that supes were created by Vought, and are not miracle kids.

Blowing up the people at the hearing resulted in:

- Vought getting rid of people posing a threat to them
- a false flag terrorist attack that would further polarize the public with a very real supe terrorist threat, forcing the president to act and speeding up the deal with Vought by creating governmental supe troops
- maintaining a strong anti-supe narrative and creating the illusion that Vought is/will be reined in. But of course this is also led by Vought.

If the government decided to just get rid of Vought and ban V/supes, then people would start to riot as it would seem to them that the president doesnt gaf and banned the only thing that could protect them against supe terrorists. Now it will seem that the government is keeping tabs on Vought when in reality they got everything they wanted and control both sides.

I like who you glossed over the nuclear flaw in your argument.

If supe terrorists wanted to take over, they would need Vought out of the picture. Supe terrorists have ZERO motivation for killing the witness and stopping the hearings.

The only people who had motivation for that action was Vought and its affiliates. In real life, the judges would immediately ban all supe activity for making a mockery of the legal system. They would then pose harsh penalties. Any actual supe terrorists would be dealt with by the military. Supe terrorists aren't highly numbered and have vulnerabilities.

In real life NO GOVERNMENT would want compound V in the hands of Vought. It's already been stolen and used to create terrorists. Imagine the compound getting stolen in mass quantities and causing an absolute chit show around the globe.

This show takes place in an alternate reality and you just have to accept that. Its an extremely exaggerated version of our reality.

Neuman sloot is Vought's controlled opposition in the government. Hence her blowing up the heads of people that would/could actually destroy Vought. She occupies the role of anti-vought congresswoman and so controls the narrative and direction that kinda movement would take. Vought doesn't leave anything to chance.

if you want to compare it to real life, you could just say, Vought would have never been allowed to exist to begin witih, and the Boys never had to be created.

Exactly and anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together would know the only reason the star witness was murdered in court before he could utter a word is because Vought needs him to shut up.

I'm shocked that no one suspects Vought's hand in this and everyone is just saying "gosh darn those terrorists!!! O well, I guess we can't do nothing now, better let Vought off the hook hehe"

Such stupid writing.

To shut down the troll account's point ^^

Because they might be difficult to take down, does it mean people should say "oh well, guess we can't stop em. Gotta let them do whatever they want."

If the 7 went rogue do we just let them kill innocents?
Society needs to have law and order. If not, what was even the point of having trials?

They can't stop them, in this world.

Homelander could easily wipe out the US government if he wanted to.

And he already does whatever he wants. (kills without regard or punishment, except loss of public favor, which luckily, he cares about a lot)

Well fuk, that's just another thing what wasn't addressed now was it. Is he really 100% invulnerable? What's the point in even trying to take him down then.

I always assumed he was really strong but could be taken down with enough military power. This seems to easily be the case for all the other supes.

Makes the show much less interesting if he's invincible. This implies the entire show will just end with him over a pile of bodies.

Right, so what's your issue?

Why would the terrorists act rationally and "try to take over"? That's like asking why the 9/11 hijackers suicided into the towers instead of taking hundreds of hostages to make demands.

Plus the government can currently do fuk all against the supes, Naqeeb casually deleted a whole task force at the end of season, the can't just forcibly conscript or try to off the dozens/hundreds of supes Vought has running around, that would just result in a messy war where the country would be crippled. We don't know how the government-Vought coop will turn out, what we do know is that Mallory, Neuman and secdef Bob all agree on the coup version of the attack so it won't be just swept under the rug.

Well, the show is very different from the comics so far, so they could very well introduce new powerful supes, so who knows.

Right now, probably only future Ryan could fight Homelander.

Homelander will probably lose it at some point, should be interesting to see what happens.

My issue is it's an exaggerated world because of bad writing. Usually in any case in the real world, if a star witness is about to end a multi trillion dollar company of superheroes.... And he's killed by superhero powers no less.... Literally everyone would be pointing at the company being behind this.

The stupid writing in this show just glosses over these things. Just like when Vought was brought down over the news of compound V. Edgar just released a statement saying "mane I'm sorry but I dint know wut was going on hehe" and they were just let off the hook like nothing. Lmao.

It seems like absolutely nothing short of video evidence of the 7 slaughtering innocents can stop them at this point. And even then I have my doubts based on everyone's stupidity.

And now I'm hearing mankind can't even stop the supes anyway so what's even the point of the show. Where's the stakes? Taking huge risks for payoffs etc. If we ever make Homelander out to be the bad guy, it doesn't even matter he can just kill everyone.

What would you have the nation do when the news of compund V broke out?

Youre watching this show with a birds eye view, imagine yourself as a member of the public in the show with their limited knowledge.

From watching the finale, its clear that there is some entity in the background influencing things even more, whether its Vought, government or the church. How can you say they shoulda reacted in xyz when you dont know who is even running things

The best villains are sympathetic. Great character development and acting.

Not sure why you're ignoring plot points and then proceed to complain about the show not making any sense.

Vought isn't some random start-up that popped up overnight and everyone just rolled with it, Frederick Vought was Operation Paperclipped by the US government then proceeded to give them supes who went on to fight alongside US troops in WWII. Vought has been operating in the country for over 7 decades, they're literally arms manufacturers it's just that their products are living and breathing. So unless the government and the agencies just kinda forgot all of that, they absolutely know how the supes came to be, it's just a VERY well kept secret, especially in front of the public.

They are a very powerful company with close government connections, and bs levels of PR. They aren't just going away over the baby scandal. And the headpopping case isn't being swept under the rug and will most likely be a major plot point in the next season.

I'm somewhat hoping that the Boys will get V next season now that Vought is close to getting the stable version of the formula.

Such stupid writing.

Starlight Can Beat Homelander.
Vought employees were also killed during the attack, so people are less inclined to believe it would have Vought involvement.

There are real life issues where the CIA has done terrible things to American citizens (If you've look into declassified ops, you know what I mean), but if you told the average person that they would dismiss you as a conspiracy theorist.

Spoiler!
Starlight can't be Homelander, my broskini.

No, there were protests and backlash. People were campaigning against them.

What stopped the backlash was the 'terrorist attack' of heads exploding, where the most televised event in the world (presumably) was subject to Vought and Non-Vought employees were killed.

Then people came to the conclusion that they needed Vought to stop the supe-terrorists. So they begrudgingly accepted at bringing down Vought would make them vulnerable to supe-terrorists.

Just like IRL where people accept an increasing technological surveillance state and draconian measures, to stop Islamic extremism and now COVID 19.

Problem-reaction-solution. That is actually a very real life public reaction.

Everything you guys are arguing about right now is just normal comic book rhetoric stuff that I didn't focus much on. For me this season was weak due to a lack of progression and too much damn build up.

Spoiler!
- Hired the most Jewish looking woman to play a Nazi superhero.
- There is no real threat to the supes other than supes which makes the show extremely boring. Hours are spent on half-brained plans to "kill" the supes by the boys but theres literally nothing they can do about it.
- Case in point; Noir at Butcher's Aunt's house. There was absolutely zero threat that they would be able to do anything to Noir so they back out of it with some half-assed threat to Vought. Ohhh don't kill us, we'll expose your secrets, which would have easily been written off as a fake leaked from America's most wanted Criminals.
- The Church was a dumb addition. No comic book reader here (I gather that doesnt much matter for the show) but the Church was the dumbest plot point of the season, either than a few good Deep scenes.
- Trying too hard to be up to date. Cuck Porn, Vapid SJW leanings, Twink references. It was cringey at best. Maybe as has been pointed out ITT, they were doing it on purpose as a form of Satire but it wasn't landing.

I mean I still enjoyed the season but this season was a 5/10 compared to last seasons 10/10. It was a massive drop off.
