Cliffs of cliffs:

Fathers absent are far, FAR,FARsurpassed by bad fathers present. Let alone decent fathers (Like the OP) actually giving a chit and changing the narrative.

Denzel has always spoke his mind about the black culture and what it's done to their family' and community as a whole.

A lot of people hate how he speaks the truth, but good for him not going with the liberal hivemind because he's "black"

And he is one of the best actors of all time.

The things that happened to black people and the systemic racism that USED to exist was horrible

However, the culture that developed from it is what is holding them back now

It's gotta change at some point

That same systemic racism that "used" to exist is the cause for alot of problems in the black community and break up of the family unit

Wtf you think the drug war and court system was meant to do?

Don't get into drugs, don't have kids and then abandon them, don't glorify gang violence / culture, put emphasis on education and family, put emphasis on life improvement

Sorry, it's 2020, you are more likely to get a job as a black person than any other race with the same qualifications, no sympathy from me

Try again.

Loled @ "drug war and court system" being "systemic racism".
You're an idiot if you think it wasn't considering that Nixons staff specifically stated they targeted the black community

Drugs were brought into the black community, jail sentences werent fairly allocated per race, etc.

You don't get to kick a demographic down via multiple avenues then suddenly look around 2-3 generations later and not expect a domino effect.

I know it's hard for the low IQ

]Sure, there are some setbacks. Being poor sucks, it makes it much harder to succeed.

But how long is that excuse gonna fly? Gonna keep bitching 50 years from now if people are still not where they want to be?

If you don't think that there are issues within the black community that are being perpetuated by the black community that need to be changed, there's no hope for you.

Until the people who are in power actually do sufficient enough steps and apologies to the countless of generations they've made suffer due to systemic racism.. domino effects of GENERATIONS of problems set forth by people in power that specifically targeted black and brown people

I mean, what do you mean by this? No one alive today was a slave owner. There are not many alive today that were making decisions during the jim crowe era. Who exactly do you want to apologize? The people who were making those laws obviously didn't like black people - why would you expect or even want an apology from them?

You are barking up the wrong tree. Excuses and expecting handouts are not going to get you (you meaning black america) anywhere. You gotta accept that the people being born today have a clean slate and have every opportunity (or more) than everyone else and do better by your community

All this misplaced anger isn't going to do anything

I'm not disputing that there are obvious reasons as to the WHY things have happened

But that doesn't do people any favors today. That doesn't do anything to improve your position today. Who exactly are you wanting to apologize? And if you want monetary compensation - do you think that would even help people?

100% it would not

A mentality change is tough but it's the only way a lot of people in poverty will make it out. Obviously you were able to make it out, so was I, so others are capable as well

Stop patronizing me first off if you are expecting me to take you seriously. I can read just fine - and I have addressed your bolded portion already. But I'll say it again

Who do you expect to apologize?
What are you expecting from them?
The people who did those are obviously racist vs blacks - so why would you trust / want anything from them anyway?

Yeah unfortunately black people who are not involved in that culture still want and need the respect and admiration of those who are in the culture. That's why you see people like jaydawg and sword and wildchild - guys that are very obviously not entangled in black culture - making posts to try to garner that admiration and respect.

The whole "street cred" mentality is very strong. No one wants to be seen as a square / any of the other names you posted

I could honestly care less if you take me seriously or not. I expect those in political power , both Dem and Rep, to step forward and admit the drug war was a racist endeavor and the steps that are being taken to heal the communities that were ravaged by that and the court system. Apologize to the family and "criminals" whose lives were ruined due to weed convictions, etc and the steps taken to help the school system in communities that have been largely affected by that and help to spend $$ on activities that will get those kids affected by all those things off the streets

It will never happen because it doesn't make the people in power $$.. but they were able to become powerful and make $$ off the back of those issues
