First responder? You mean after law enforcement makes the scene secure for you?

I’m playing bro, I’m a cop, so I always like to give medics/firefighters a hard time. And they usually do it right back. All in good fun
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a nonlinear, nonsubjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

I have only been a medic for 1 year . EMT for 2 years. So not a lot of gore stories.

But the worst one I’ve been on was a middle
Age sons of anarchy type bike rider. He was ran over by a car ( hit and run) dude was out of it on scene. Most likely head injury . Was having seizure like activity and moaning. we load him up in the ambo and start breathing for him. Bleeding from his ears , eyeballs , nose mouth. We get to the hospital and he codes and they turn him over to check his back and his whole back is split open spine sticking out .

OUR CREW FORGOT TO CHECK HIS BACK, yikes

I've seen fat people die from things they would have caught if they were thin. Srs. Years ago went on a crash where the driver was a fat chick. She had a gash to her leg. Ambulance loaded her up and she was dead by the time they reached the hospital. Severed her femoral artery but her legs were so fat the blood wasn't coming out to give any indication that it was an issue

Here in Canada I swear 95% of paramedics jobs are saving junkies lives.

Is this how it is for you? Its the only reason I would never do this job. Couldn't imagine attending to junkies all night long.

1) Suicide by blowing brains out.
2) Guy falling off 20 stories. He was dead, but we tried resuscitating
