I've known many bbers who read research studies showing nicotine + caffeine was an effective fat loss agent, and once they got done losing their fat, they became addicted to nicotine.
So, I'm not sure where you got your information that nicotine gum isn't addictive, because it absolutely is.

OP, seriously, stay away from the nicotine. No matter how good it makes you feel, soon you'll need to go from the 2mg gum to the 4mg gum and then you'll be on the road to vaping and other shít. Just avoid it, homie. It's not worth the risk.

Hey OP you are asking for a heart attack
I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day every valley shall be engulfed, every hill shall be exalted and every mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plains and the crooked places will be made straight and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.

Idk about nic gum, but I use the pouches every now and then when I can feel stress coming on. Definitely clears up that feeling of wanting to strangle someone at the office for just talking to me after a deep breath.
Beats going thru a log of cope wg/mint every few weeks anyways.

You're basing your hypothesis on all the studies done on nicotine and tobacco, which are two different things. It's the nicotine in the tobacco that's addictive, not the tobacco.
Nicotine can be administered via several methods (excluding cigarettes, which are not recommended due to risks greatly exceeding benefits):
An inhaler, which lets you rapidly feel the effects of nicotine (and inherently carries more risk than other forms due to the speed at which it works)
Topical patches, which have about a 1 hour delay between application and absorption and maintain constant serum levels of nicotine but with less cognitive spike (least risk potential, least nootropic potential)
Chewing gums, which are sort of an intermediate between the two
There is currently insufficient evidence to suggest an 'optimal dose' of nicotine for non-smoking individuals.

The overall bioavailability of nicotine in gum form is lesser than that of inhaled, and measured at approximately 50-80% of the total content of the gum. This lesser bioavailability is due to some intestinal absorption of nicotine from swallowed saliva, which is subject to first-pass metabolism.

If you've ever felt as though you were becoming hooked on nicotine gum, you might not have been imagining it. Even though the nicotine levels in the stop-smoking product is lower than in cigarettes, there could be an addictive component to its use in some individuals.
[...]
Some people experience withdrawal symptoms when they toss out their nicotine gum, according to Murray. These withdrawal effects can include headaches, as well as irritability, depression, and difficulty concentrating.

Perhaps most surprising is that, in studies by Boyd and others, nicotine has not caused addiction or withdrawal when used to treat disease. These findings fly in the face of nicotine’s reputation as one of the most addictive substances known, but it’s a reputation built on myth. Tobacco may well be as addictive as heroin, as some have claimed. But as scientists know, getting mice or other animals hooked on nicotine alone is dauntingly difficult. As a 2007 paper in the journal Neuropharmacology put it: “Tobacco use has one of the highest rates of addiction of any abused drug.” Paradoxically it’s almost impossible to get laboratory animals hooked on pure nicotine, though it has a mildly pleasant effect.
The same study found that tobacco smoke itself is necessary to amp up nicotine’s addictiveness. In 2005, for instance, researchers at the University of California, Irvine, found that animals self-administer a combination of nicotine and acetaldehyde, an organic chemical found in tobacco, significantly more often than either chemical alone. In 2009, a French team found that combining nicotine with a cocktail of five other chemicals found in tobacco — anabasine, nornicotine, anatabine, cotinine and myosmine — significantly increased rats’ hyperactivity and self-administration of the mix compared with nicotine alone.
If you're open minded enough to consider that nicotine (and even tobacco) are not evil, start reading with the mindset that this is a plant and it can have many uses and can be abused. Like tea, coffee, cacoa, and marijuana. The black and white thinking that this is simply another monster to be slayed is lazy and simple minded. To be sure, there are dangers, for one nicotine hasn't been shown to *cause* cancer (yet) but it has been shown to promote cancer growth. The rigidity surrounding nicotine and the refusal for people to believe it may have possible benefits mystifies me. Even smoking takes forever to kill someone, and there are proven benefits in maintaining a healthy weight. Why not take the good and leave the bad? We have a fukking obesity crisis on our hands that's gonna cost just as much to clean up as smoking did, probably cost more. For the record, I use snus. It has the lowest concentration of TSNAs (almost none) and no smoke. The same study found that tobacco smoke itself is necessary to amp up nicotine’s addictiveness. I used nicotine gum as PWO for a long time. Just be careful with the stim tolerance.
At one point I was up to 1000mg caffeine, 5 sticks of nicotine gum, 3 primatine ephedra pills and multiple tabs of adrafinil daily. lol

Nicotine is pretty low on my list of cognitive enhancers or energy boosters. ECA stack or DMHA/DMAA preworkout consistently delivers. Also can’t go wrong with 600mg caffeine + l theanine.

Man back when I used to dip all it made me do was want to sit on my ass. Like it had a stim effect but it drained me of energy at the same time.

I literally just pop 2 4mg if I want to chew it that day, in the morning, and I’m good for the day. Sometimes even spit it out around mid afternoon.
I don’t chew it everyday.
Gets me focused too.
I think like anything, moderation can be had to use it as a tool for whatever benefit it provides you.
