There is a time for tough love and there is a time to be supportive. Tough love is after they've been at for a day. He has made srs progress and he's not talking about stopping where he's at so being supportive is the right way to go in this situation. He's more than halfway to his goal weight. I think we could all agree he needs to start lifting but its tough with all the gyms closed and he said he's doing bodyweight stuff right now which is fine

OP idk if you stated already but are you lifting? It's good too cut down but you need a foundation to cut down to. If you have not put on any muscle you're gonna end up looking super skinny which maybe it is better than how you did look but ultimately if you trying to build a muscular physique you should be lifting hard. you're gonna end up in a cycle of not liking your physique. you could still do it currently because i did read you are cutting to 140. You need really focus on hitting your compound exercises with decently heavyweight. I recommend a bro split despite people hate it. Hit your one compound a day and then secondary muscles. Congrats on losing the 40lbs though there's always a start.
