Software engineers are the tradies of the business world (srs)

100% srs. Here's my interaction with software engineers:

"Hey Sameer, we think if we automate this one annoying task none of us want to do, we could save the team time to actually focus on important work, can you guys build it?"

"Sure we will try"

Hang up phone and forget about the software dev team. They don't actually drive business strategy nor do they usually have any real ownership or equity stake in the business. Lol at a software engineer actually sitting in a meeting with a ceo and board of directors. They are too busy doing my biatch work in a basement somewhere.

Lol at software engineers. Srs.

where do you think the CTO usually starts? where do you think the CFO usually starts?

all jobs in the business world start off as a random pleb in a 80k ratrace job, until you accumulate enough years experience to sit in the board rooms

Well, technically OP is right. They do a task that is assigned to them. You either do the work, command/control the work, (managers), or you own the work (business owner). Same with so many other professions.

lol shiiiid, and? You can call me a sandwhich artiste, or "Chief Basket Weaver" but i'f i'm getting all the stock options, "Long term Incentive" plans, and bonuses that come with being "The tradie of c suite" then i literally could not care less. As long as my salary is right and the check clears then i'm good.

Still beats ACTUALLY being a tradie (even a six figure one) and having to tell a classy woman you play dirt for a living. not even once.

I rather not work. My dream job is being a loaner of money. Were I loan people money and I get money from the interest they will never pay back. Another dream job of mine is stealing peoples money.

Agreed

I don’t have respect for fuking nerds or anyone that isn’t in a revenue driving function

Sales is probably the most alpha role in any organization tbh
