Why does Earth still have atmosphere

If a $10 vacuum cleaner from Walmart can lift up air

How do you put an entire thing of air in an infinite size vacuum

And not have anything happen

You seem to be implying the earth is flat and the atmosphere holding in oxygen to support life forms on the planet is actually a giant glass dome

I know, itโ€™s hard to believe planets have localized gas composition relative to the โ€œvacuumโ€ of outer space

Better question is how does the Earth keep rotating? Shouldn't the air be causing friction forcing the rotation to eventually stop? There is no force being placed on the Earth keep it rotating at a constant.

If the Earth were rotating in a giant fluid, sure. It's just surrounded and dragging air with it, which btw IS routinely affected by the Earth's rotation. You can see the Coriolis effect and its consequences on the cyclonic rotations in the atmosphere. Keep in mind the air on the Earth is moving along with it. The total angular momentum here has to be preserved. So, unless the Earth bonks into something that causes it to change its angular momentum, it ain't gonna stop spinning.
