the nba has literally paid around 220 million [no joke] in the last 20 years for this charity case called the wnba.

these idiots dont get that putting butts in the seats is the name of the game, how during internet times can u not develop a following is beyond me, especially since u have a basketball league headstart and u still dont bring in fans..

People watch the women’s soccer team because they’re Team USA, representing the United States and playing against other countries.

We have a women’s soccer team in Portland with “cute white girls” playing, it was a hot commodity for a season, but now they give out tickets for free basically.

This, but I'm honestly not sure what could save them because this wouldn't be enough. Women aren't as nearly athletic and explosive as men are which is what people like to see in basketball. But you also have people in the NBA crossing defenders over, making slick no-look passes, step-back and fade away 3 pointers. WNBA players don't really have that skill. The game reminds me of a slower and more boring version of late 90s/early 00s basketball.

Perhaps at the same time because there isn't a ton of money it isn't really that lucrative of a career? At the same time to generate money it needs to be a good product and exciting, it just isn't.

I think one WNBA player talked about the toxic culture and how she was pretty much bullied out of the WNBA. Imagine being a straight WNBA player with conservative and christian values, fukn lol.




Womens tennis and womens UFC are probably the most watchable, but these aren't team sports and only a few matchups may be worth watching. And nobody really wants to watch womens MMA lol.

But Ronda back in the days was actually one of the biggest draws for the UFC despite being a woman headliner. Her PPV numbers were very impressive despite being a woman. However I guess you could argue that there are men fighting on the card so it's a packaged deal. Still tho, a woman headlining a card making the numbers that she did ...

Lets look at who actually watch females sports:

1. Diehard fans of the sport.
2. People that play the sport/are involved.
3. People that just want to mire attractive athletes.


You have a female sport that the vast majority of females don't care about. Most females cannot play. And most men have no interest in watching unattractive girls run around and play basket-ball.

I'm just saying you need to find a way to make the game more exciting. Dressing them up like slots won't work either. Lingerie Football League tried that and it's a fun gimmick for a few months, but then you realize that's the only interesting thing about it.

I was barely good enough to make the practice squad in college and our team at the time was one of the worst in collegiate history, and a few of us absolutely destroyed the women's team in a "friendly" pick-up game. It was like playing middle-schoolers.

I played off the bench varsity in hs... just came in to shoot threes. Played in a 3v3 co-ed tournament at work and ended up guarding some black chick who apparently lead a d2 team in scoring... actually thought she might finesse me. Wrong, she was awful. And slow. Painfully slow.

I could watch sub-par basketball at my local highschool.

Typically College girls are right around JV boys level.

Never played against the "elites" though, but I would be shocked if they could hang with HS boys.

Sexiness is the only thing soccer players have going for them and most people prefer their own race which means they have a much larger audience. Upon inspection, this is a lot less about race and a direct result of sexual preference, which makes her a bigot.
