IT bros I have a question about something

I'm trying to make a telnet or ssh BBS server with a raspberry pi using Synchronet and its been compiling for over 3 hours now. I am worried something happened and idk how long it is supposed to take. Is this normal? I already wasted countless hours /days trying to make a BBS server using Mystic before I abandoned it because it was giving too many problems for a layman like me to figure out.

If it has an ip address it is not secure. One person could shut down entire internet exploiting border gateway protocol. Not worried but thanks.

Thanks.
You do you, I'm used to people ignoring expert advice it's just as easy if not better overall to use SSH and it's even faster with keys for connecting.
There's not a single downside.
