how many of you actually know your knots and hitches ?

I know richstrong and hutrapper probably do because they are real men

but where are the other real men at who would be able to survive in the wilderness

Truckers hitch is pretty useful in everyday life.

A munters hitch with a biner proves its self surprisingly useful too the odd time.

munter is one i use often for lowering heavy loads with no mechanical assistance, great hitch.

square knot and sheepshank have gotten me through every rope situation i've been in

Not a knot, but really cool rope chit. I once moved a massive tree across a frozen swamp with a rope and an axe.

I know the hitches and knots I use everyday but I dont know what they are called. I use about 3 or 4 basic knots and each have a variation or two.

Of course I know the truckers hitch and the clove those are basics.

Defiantly important to know some knots, some of my favorites;

Reef, bowline, sheet bend, carrick bend and the tarbuck. I want to memorize more climbing knots, but as im not using them regularly i forget so fast
slip knot and truckers hitch are good for loading the trailer, and lashings are fun when making forts/camp furniture.
