Used to be volunteer FF and SAR
Fish
Rock climb
So I know the basics of all those. I still just do a bunch of square knots in everyday life (building a fort with the kids etc.).

I love rope.
I had to tie down a plotter (a huge printer) to a pallet for shipping one time. Everybody was useless and I came in and knocked it out.
They looked at it when I was done and pretty much all of them said "It looks like a BDSM film in here."
I landed 2 dates from it, both freaks.

It's amazing how you forget knots when you don't use them. Kind of sucks. Example: I go to make a bowline now I forget which way to make the first loop and then which direction to go through.
Don't remember the names of all the ones I used to use.
Is trucker's hitch like a come-along?
What 4-5 knots should everyone know for life, wilderness, outdoors etc.?

Clove hitch is a must because it is the start of all your lashings.
Sheet bend is good for tieing two different sized ropes together.
And the tarbuck is great for guy ropes/ clothes lines etc as it will slide up and down, but not slip under tension
Damn
