Snow from end of october (now) to end of March. Do you even know what that is like? Anyone here live furter north than me?

No but I live in Chicago so I deal with cold weather as well. Not as consistent as yours obviously.

Moved to MI October of 2013 just in time for the polar vortex. Lived there through June 2019.

So close enough. MI makes the top 3 in every "worst US state for winter" list that I have seen.

I would prefer to live further south. However there are some benefits to living here as well. Not many people, not many bugs and at the edge of the world.

I wonder whats it´s like to live in a place where it´s warm and sunny. I wonder if people that live in such places take it for granted. The darkness in the winter is the worst thing though. November to january sucks because we only get like 4 hours of day time before it gets dark. Brb, dark when going to work, dark when leaving work....

I guess that is Michigan. It´s far north, but not Alaska north. I´m sure it can get pretty cold though since it´s landlocked. Along the coast in Norway, at least the ocean makes it warmer. It´s crazy how america have places like Alaska and desert climate like in Arizona.

Yea Chicago got down to -55F 2 years ago. Colder than Antarctica. We get similar lack of light, but maybe a little more than you. Snow in April, etc.

Where in Norway are you? My great grandparents are from Sweden. I guess they used to go up north every winter for a while to see the northern lights and the area was near the Norway border. I want to go visit up north there during the winter. Can't remember the town name.

How much daylight do you get in the summer by you?

Winters are brutal but you adapt to it. Supplementing vitamin d and trying to get enough sunshine make a big difference. I was raised in Alaska, want to go back home soon.

I´m in the Trondheim region. less than 2 hours from the sweden border.Alaska seems so nice. I´m at a smiliar latitude. Denali mountain and beautiful fjords. Away from all the madness in the world. Thats what I like, living far away from all the big population centers of the world.

Northern states in conus have optimal weather, imo. 4 seasons and a nice long winter, hnnnggg.
