Listening to some random 80s playlist at work right now and it just makes me realize of how cooler everything was back then probably.
Brb just going to some random discos with your pals in your shiny new clothes and just picking chicks based on your dance moves.
Brb music was 10000x times better than the trash music nowadays.
Brb people looking cool on the train reading newspapers.
Brb on the streets no one in their phones like all the *******s today.
Brb people actually having to go and meet friends if they need to talk.
I don't care about if it was harder to make it back then or not. Don't care if the laws were unlawful. The point is as a white brah, i do fuking wish I experienced those times.
People back then would be embarassed seeing all these betas quieing up 5 hours before to get their new Iphone. Yuck.

The 80's were fuked dude. Lots of crime. Lots of drug use. Look at pics of New York in the 80's vs now. 80's are a romanticized decade that gave birth to the more wholesome reconstruction of the 90's.

I used to keep an 80s playlist on deck for when I would party with the white lady. Listening to synthesized pop is the only way to get properly skint back

The 80's were better. It was an optimistic time. Everyone was looking for next week, next month, next year to be better than the previous one... and they were! People felt good about the future. People felt good about the economy. People felt like they could achieve whatever goals they set for themselves. It makes a world of difference to your mental state to be in an environment like that.
I don't know when all of that ended for sure, but the world we're living in now is nothing like the world was in the 80's. If you're a zoomer or a younger millennial, you've grown up in a post-9/11 world. That's a world of worry and fear and a government that infringes on your rights and freedoms in the name of safety.
Back in the 80's, you could ride a motorcycle without a helmet, drive in a car without a seatbelt, and smoke in a bar without the government forbidding it. You were treated as an adult who could decide for themselves. That kind of freedom doesn't exist anymore.

It was a very positive, optimistic decade. You could smell all the opportunity of a great life in the air. Not an adult but spent my teenage years in the 80s.

'83 grad and it was great. But, every decade has its pros and cons. Music and movies were definitely better tho. Much more time interacting with real people too.

pretty much everything in the 80's was cringe except some stellar movies. cars and fashion were chit tier. the only worse decade is the 70's.
