The day he got married to Nia was the day he started his slow decline...

I used to listen to his podcast and got to the point that I had to cut it off when Nia came on. She is literally everything he ever complained about women wrapped up in a package..Then it went down hill so bad I just stopped listening.

He's definitely not as funny as he used to be. He used to give less fuks it seems. But I mean... in todays day and age any misstep could result in you getting canceled. So some of it is understandable, but it does take away from the comedy.


The Trump stuff... whatever. Personally I think Trump jokes are just played out. I've seen some funny Trump jokes. Although it wasn't a stand-up comedy thing, I thought the baby Trump balloon was fuking hilarious. In general though, Trump jokes seem lazy now. I get it. Love him, hate him, he's the most popular topic of discussion, but a good comedian shouldn't have to rely on the same source as every single other person out there. Some originality would be nice.

I can see that. There are plenty of comedians or talk show hosts or whatever who have let Trump live rent free every single day since being elected. I can understand your sentiment about those jokes being played out.

I think he probably was a secret Trump supporter or leans to the right certainly, but it's not really the issue with his comedy. He's dialed everything back since he got success with his podcast and getting the Netflix show. Patrice O'Neal would ridicule some of the stuff he pretends to rant about now. It's all easy targets, on top of it all he invites his wife on his podcast and it's just awkward cringe feminism at times. His last special wasn't great either.
Chappelle is still funny even if you disagree with his politics.

There’s probably validity to it, but although I prefer Trump to Biden I’m not American and before everything turned into crazy identity politics, etc. I’m generally more democrat leaning.
Anyway...

In my opinion Bill has gotten worse and it’s like OP says. It often feels like he’s just moaning.
It also doesn’t help that he now says stuff like “as if you know better than thousands of black peoples lived experience” (as a argument for why black people are right to call Trump racist - which some dude claimed he wasn’t, writing in on the podcast.). I’m paraphrasing, but it was more or less like that.

I don't really follow him, but he did marry a "woke"/SJW black woman - and that seems to have had a strong influence on him. Therefore, saying its simply due to him dissing Trump is likely inaccurate.
