Dad had to shut down his VHS rental store because of COVID
this virus takes no prisoners. my dad's VHS rental store had been open for 10 years and he just closed it for good on sunday. he was hoping the halloween season would help them rebound but it just wasn't in the cards unfortunately. my mom retired when he opened the store and now it looks like she'll have to get back into the workforce. COVID fukked them real bad and it's not fair.

Also really curious if OP is being serious or not. Up until recently, there was a Family Video (I assume it was mainly DVDs though) still open near me. I was always shocked that they were still open...they aren't anymore though.
They were peddling CBD too, so who knows how much they were relying on that.

If a rental VHS stored opened in a hipster place like portland or brooklyin it would be a huge success, srs. There would be hundreds of retards wanting to rent space jam in VHS because "muh 90s"

It saddens my soul when I hear of private business owners getting harshly impacted from things this year. Whether it's COVID, or indirect hate from BLM and other movements.
Simultaneously it goes to show that banking on a thriving business to carry you out for retirement isn't that assured of a route in your elder years.

Your dad opened a VHS rental store in 2010? Not sure if he’s the worst businessman of all time, or a really great one considering he actually lasted 10 years...

No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.
