A 3 weeks delay means I'm more likely to have my dream PC build before launch day.

Still upset about it, but not "Star Citizen Upset" if you catch my drift.

I'm sure CDPR is feeling the weight of the hype train, as well as the weight of the upset customers.

i generally don't , but i did this time as more of a reminder to myself its coming out because it had my interest. I don't game much as i use to for lack of time / interesting titles. Just seeing the consistent delays and excuses puts up red flags and skepticism of what they say and what is actually delivered. Ill just wait for reviews not a big deal.

Well, I was originally trying to figure whether to focus on AC:V, Cyberpunk or Halo Infinite first this holiday season. Glad these companies solved that for me.

Don't see any harm in cancelling the pre-order, the value of the game with flesh itself out after release. Unless we believe CDPR's strategy is to lock in as many pre-orders as possible and then publish a subpar game but laugh because they have pre-orders, that ain't a sustainable business model

Surely it would be no skin off their backs. Not sure if or how these companies leverage the cash flow from pre-orders, but it's not like 6 weeks is gonna make a big difference. And if that actually was CDPR's strategy, they'd just publish the fukn game and not delay it further

Eh it doesn’t seem far fetched, probably the people who paid $2000+ for an RTX 3080 so they could hit it in November

I preordered so I can get it for $50 on Amazon but kinda regretting it now. Who knows when the game will be out.

The only silver lining is that I might actually have a 3000 series GPU in time for release with this delay.

It does seem like an even bigger faux pas just because they said the game has gone gold, and then shortly after announce another delay. Really bad PR move

I get the feeling the devs thought they were getting down to the short strokes and someone in upper management wanted more done or has some kind of strategy in mind or something

Don’t really know what this process looks like, but it sounds like when devs were as blindsided as everyone else

The delay does piss me off, but what really does it is how much they posted about the game being done and the date being confirmed and ready to go. They were better off before they ever announced a release date IMO.

I wonder if they were actual death threats not just insults involving death. You know how liberal people are with definitions. There's a big difference between: "You better release this by the 21st I will find out where you live and end your life" compared to "You should die". "KYS" can't even be used in jest.

I'd say you might be right, but after reading some reddit threads about the delay, I have no doubt there are some deranged lunatics sending fuked up chit to CDPR employees. Some people just don't live in reality. Plus, there are a lot of kids and teens on social media who haven't learned the difference between saying 'kys' in jest and saying, "I will find you and kill you and your family."

oh idk. thought they going for all platform launch. but then again that is a weird move, why not release it on this gen first idk. maybe they save a **** ton on shipping costs or something by releasing the game on all platforms at once.

ps5 console release date nov 12, xbox one x nov 10. so they have approximately a month to run it on the next gen consoles

Considering they are releasing the game for consoles that are still not released themselves and also because of the 2nd 'rona wave screwing things up even further (working from home is really not as efficient as working in the office when it comes to team based activities) this is not unreasonable. People that take vacation from work in order to play a single player game are insane anyway.

First of all, it's only being releasedinitiallyon current gen and PC. PS5 and XBSX releases are going to be later in 2021. So no, that is not a reasonable excuse for a delay. (They are only "playable" on next gen due to backward compatibility).

Second, we already had the Corona delay when this thing was pushed from April or whatever to November. A delay this close to launch says to me they had some serious issue in their "Day 0" patch that they won't be able to fix in time, not because Nathan and Suzy couldn't make a Zoom call.

Personally, I don't care about the delay, it's more what it says about the state of the game and its management and development in general.

what's the policy like in Poland I wonder

over here you are heavily encouraged to work from home and if you do need to go to the office the social distancing rules have to be respected

e.g. if you have a big enough office you can work there
