Johnson County, KS:
Second & Third Offense DUI - When an individual is convicted of a second DUI offense within a specified amount of time, the penalties are significantly higher. Jail time carries a minimum sentence of 90 consecutive days and a maximum of one year. Fines are also increased to well over $1,000, plus any other court fees and probation costs. The defendant stands to have his or her vehicle impounded for up to one year at their own expense and will face a license suspension of one year followed by one year mandatory ignition interlock device installation. A third DUI conviction will have the same penalties except that the fines stand to increase much higher. Also, a third time drunk driving charge may be charged as a felony, depending when your previous DUIS were.

KANSAS DUI LAW
In Kansas, there are times when you will be charged with a felony in relation to a DUI (driving under the influence) offense. Under state law, a driver will be charged with DUI when his or her BAC (blood alcohol content) is .08% or greater.
Generally, first or second DUI offense will be charged as a misdemeanor. However, both third and fourth DUI convictions will be treated as felonies.
THIRD DUI OFFENSE IN KANSAS
Under state law, a third offense is considered to be a nonperson felony if the driver has had a prior conviction within the last ten years, not including any period of incarceration. Here, upon conviction, the penalties will include:
Not less than 90 days, no more than one year in prison; and
A fine between $1,750 - $2,500.
In the case of a third conviction, an individual will not be eligible for release on probation, suspension, or reduction of sentence or parole until he or she has served a minimum of 90 days' imprisonment. The 90 days' imprisonment may be served in a work release program only after the individual has served 48 consecutive hours' imprisonment. The work release program must also provide for the individual to return to confinement at the end of each day.
FOURTH DUI OFFENSE IN KANSAS
Under state law, a fourth offense is also considered to be a nonperson felony. If convicted, the individual will be sentenced to the following penalties:
Not less than 90 days, no more than one year in prison; and
A fine for $2,500.
In the case of a fourth conviction, the driver will not be eligible for release on probation, suspension or reduction of sentence or parole until the individual has served a minimum of 90 days' imprisonment. The 90 days' imprisonment may be served in a work release program only after he or she has served 72 consecutive hours' imprisonment. Again, the work release program must provide for the individual to return to confinement at the end of each work day.

-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

And a felony regardless of what it’s for is going to be a black mark for jobs. Any serious employer is going to expect her to have gone to rehab, done 3-6 months in sober living to be considered employable.
You’re looking at automatic job loss likely, lawyers are going to charge a bundle, likely $3k minimum, more likely $5k+. Probably cost $20k+ of lost wages, court fees, legal fees, I’m assuming they require interlock in KS.
I’m not saying it isn’t well deserved, but it’s a life changer. Back in the 80’s there were brahs rocking 10+ DWIs without serious consequences.
In a lot of states you can get out of your first two without jail time, maybe 48 hours in, unless they’re agg and someone gets hurt.
