Made the decision to switch to decaf coffee after drinking at least 4 cups of regular coffee each day for as long as I can remember.
Fukin dying over here. Headaches are killing me. Apparently can last for 9 days!!!! Thinkging about downing some coffee to end the pain!!!
Helluva drug boyos!!

i havent quit cold turkey but have tapered down from 600mg-700mg a day to 100mg a day in the morning. personal advice would be to just taper down and not go cold turkey. personally my only downside of going from 600mg-700mg to 100mg per day is just feeling tired af, esp around the afternoon, but im slowly getting over it with good diet and forcing myself not to be a lazy fuk around 1pm

Wouldn't say im "heavily" addicted to it this time (only drink 3/4 of a cup of coffee for the entire day) but I definitely find it hard to give it up completely again

Been there. Did 4 months no caffeine. Broke it a month ago, but am on it again.
I weened off of it. I still ad 2 weeks of mental retardation and feeling like cloudy mentally. But then you notice it. It's worth it OP.
I tried quitting cold turkey once and it was 4 days of hell. I felt the benefits earlier, but weening off kept me from any headaches or feelings of suicide lol

Used to drink a large energy drink every morning and coffee throughout the day. Had strep throat a few months back and ended up sleeping for two days straight so by the time I woke back up I was through the majority of the withdrawals, haven’t had caffeine since then. I got “lucky” being sick through it, otherwise there is no way.
Still have cravings around 1:30pm every day

quit coffee about 3 months ago, switched to Yerba mate.
It won't hit you as hard as coffee, it's a smoother euphoria and sipping on that all day makes you drink a lot of water.

I drink 1-2 Monsters a day. Sometimes it really gives me this high but I also notice that I get really nervous/anxiety/stress from it.
Sunday is the only day where I dont drink any caffeine, its also the only day where I fall asleep in the afternoon. Body is definitely addicted to it.
I would like to reduce my daily intake to about 100mg.

I heard it's unwise to try quitting it while cutting. Because you're already in a calorie deficit so cutting out the energy source of caffeine would make the cut even more difficult.

I've done it a few times, if it wasn't for doing shift work i'd be off it completely. The headaches can be absolutely brutal, keeping busy and taking Tylenol PM at night was my saving grace.
Unfortunately for me in this point of my life staying awake and performing without the drug is a toughie.

whats even weirder is that caffeine causes you to sleep worse in every capacity, BUT coffee consumption quantity has no known association with dementia or alzheimers

Quitting is one of my near future goals. I'm easily downing 400-600mg of caffeine a day and feel dependent on it. I know it's going to be rough to finally stop, so my plan is to get down to 100mg a day over the next month. After that I think it'll be easier

You don't get the high like you do from the energy boost (which I miss), but you also don't crash almost ever. I got through about 4 months, then relapsed shortly for 2 days. Back at it though. I didn't even crave it. I just had a long couple weeks and wanted to be a degenerate for a night and chose that over alcohol and getting fukked up lol
Caffeine is my one real vice. I can honestly say the addictiveness proves to me how bad it is for you. Even the 1 cup a day becomes a dependence for people.

Coffee is only an estimated 80+ billion dollar market and one of the highest traded commodities in the world. That doesn't even include the energy drink market which is another 80 billion dollar market.
Yea one of the most addictive legal substances that is one of the biggest money makers in the world will grow your dick larger, cures cancer, makes you live longer, gives you a healthy heart, and makes your mind bulletproof!
They honestly say coffee helps fight against cancer. 90% of americans consume caffeine daily of some sort.
The statistics state that 1 in 2 people will develop cancer at some point. The cancer rates have sky rocketed over the years.
Our mortality rate has dropped over time.
None of that research is backed up by general statistical analysis.

Take a look a cigarettes in the 60s. They had chit loads of studies saying how healthy it was. Of course there's benefits to nicotine but it's not worth it because of the negatives.
He had some good points. Do whatever you want. Keep drinking your coffee. I'm good.

Stopped when he said the amount he was taking, every time someone says they feel better quitting caffeine or they want to quit it they are abusing it heavily.
There is no downside to taking a small amounts every day, I.e 1 cup of coffee or 1 sugar free energy drink a day except the small added money cost over time. I drink either 1 cup of coffee or a sugar free monster about an hour or two after waking up purely for the taste cause I enjoy it, need to stop being so autistic and eliminating everything from your diet until you left with nothing but chicken brocolli rice.
