Why is everyone so rude lately?

I got yelled at for walking into a store yesterday without a mask on. Instead of talking to me like a normal person and saying something like "hey can you please put on a mask, the county has a law about masks now thanks", the lady that worked there shouted at me like I was a thief "put on a mask!". Then when I get up to the checkout the guy scans my things and says "damn" and did this weird awkward thing where he looks at my stuff and sets it aside without putting it into bags then just stands there and stares at me. I said "did the barcode not work? I didnt see a price on the shelf". He then said "WHAT"/ So I repeated myself and he said "TAKE OFF YOUR MASK I CANT HEAR YOU". So I took off the mask and repeated myself. Then he said "Yeah it rung up why wouldnt it?". I was like wtf? in my head because he was acting like he had a problem with ringing it up and there was no price on the screen thing that displays the price. So I said okay then how much is it?

Why are people so rude? Why would you ring up someone's stuff and say "damn" and then stand there and stare at the customer? The fuk is wrong with people?

Then I had somebody on the way home acting nuts. Tailgating me even though I am in the right lane going 5 over and there is a person in front of me. There are two other lanes to get around. Then these people get on my side a bit ahead and chuck a bunch of **** out their back window and it hit my truck. I think it was a handfull of pennies? And when I get home I sat outside and people were racing up and down my narrow residential street with no sidewalks going like 40-45 while little kids were out there trick or treating. Sick of people lately.

Look on the misc.

As one of the happier and helpful posters on here for years, the haters have all started looking for targets. Naturally they gravitate towards the tall poppies.

I’ve been lol’ing at the mod alts and rep whores for quite a while now. I am just thankful that 99% of the misc know that they are all a joke.

And you need to know how to diffuse a situation or end them.

Cheers

The tailgating when I’m in the right lane annoys me so much. Society has made it too easy for retards to survive and proliferate.

Target here has these super bright lights and this very red paint scheme and something about the color and the way the lights are makes me feel really nervous so I don't go there anymore.

It's anxiety manifesting itself in rudeness. Has been going on all year. You just have to identify these people around you, and stay away for your own mental health.

I've changed my entire schedule to avoid a couple of toxic Karen types I would interact with daily, and my mental health has improved significantly.

People aren't socializing much anymore, and their outlets to blow off steam/forget about what sucks in life are greatly limited right now. Masks are annoying to wear 8+ hours every single day, and they make it a lot harder to communicate with people properly. People who already have less than great hearing now have to deal with communicating with people mumbling behind masks without the benefits of seeing their mouths move/facial expressions beyond the eyes. Miscommunication is a classic path to making people pissy with each other.

The tailgating/bad driving really annoys me. I never had to deal with it much back home in a small town but now I'm in a bigger city and it's so aggravating. I miss going on to a peaceful backroad and being the only car. Now it's like I pull onto a road and 20 cars are behind me.

It's extremely stressful. People are so dangerous I'm about to put a gopro on my truck dash and just drive around and post the video. You guys wouldn't believe how they drive here. Extremely erratic. Cut you off randomly with no signal. Slam on their brakes for no reason. On their phones swerving into the side of your lane. When people are making a left turn that has 2 or 3 left turn lanes they merge into your lane into their right while making the turn and try hitting the side of you. People in left turn lanes try to go straight through the intersection when you are to the right of them in the left turn lane. I have this bad intersection I always have to deal with people trying to hit me on my way home. One time I honked and the person followed me to my house honking and getting within inches to the back of me and then just sat there outside of my house when I ran inside to get my rifle.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ This situation happens 9/10 times on my way home. It is the only way to get to my house. People dont let me turn right onto my street. They dart out across the road and try to hit me.

Lold at that picture. I’ve always equated it like this. You have someone on a road tailgating right behind you a few inches even though they could go around. Now think about the same scenario in a hallway. You’re walking along and someone comes up and starts walking behind you breathing in your neck even though they can walk faster around. People do this **** in cars because they can’t get knocked out.

There is another dangerous situation that happens 9/10 times leaving my house. People will merge into the right turn lane that is meant for turning onto the street I am leaving and they merge into that lane without signalling and then they go straight through the intersection and dont even turn. Then while you are waiting for traffic people behind you will start honking and screaming for you to go. I think they want you to go and use the right turn lane as a merge lane but you cant when people are 50/50 gonna go straight through in the right turn lane.

Or phucking idiots who didnt complete driving school, what I mean is:

Say you're on a 3 lane road (3 lanes one direction, 3 lanes the opposite) and you're in the middle lane, there is an entrance to a shopping center to your right, and a ******* is coming out of it to turn in the right lane just as you pass the entrance.

Phucking idiots apparently missed the part when they teach you that you need at least 1 extra lane of space to make the turn.

lmao, everyone is a tough guy when they step inside of a 3,000 lb. cage.

btw i have noticed the same rude behavior all around me where i live. i think it's the election year, the covid stuff, and just general anti-socialness. rude behavior in public, in lines, at work, in traffic, at the store, etc.

nobody knows how to drive, they all want to speed up to cut you off or go around you, even at a red light or with nobody around. then they slam the brakes. and then do it all over again. most of these people hate their jobs, so if you can avoid rush hour traffic when people are getting off from work then you can avoid them.

when i went to vote i saw tons of these types of people. just exiting the parking lot there was a truck slammed into the pole around a very calm intersection. obviously from driving like a tard.

i would be flustered about the cashier. doesn't he know they have a button to manually put in the price when such situations arise? when i was a cashier i would have never treated a customer like that. the rest seems like a bad day
