Imagine this kind of response, when this is not the generally used definition of "carbohydrate" in modern biochemistry. The term "carbohydrate" btw not a great term in the first place because of its vague generality. Does maltose, lactose, starch, deoxyribose conform to this ratio?

Because the ratio is approximate.

Monosaccharides start with this exact ratio before reactions anyways.

Yes, all of those molecules approximately confirm to the ratio or they would not be carbohydrates, the term carbohydrate comes from the 1:2 ratio of carbon to hydrogen and the ate suffix is for oxygen.
