Why do l still live in Vegas?

Brb no scenery in the city

Brb known for degenmaxxing partying/drinking/etc

Brb blistering heat for 3 months2 weeks of perfect 60-75 degree weatherthen cold and rain.

Brb working all over the city I’ve seen how much crime is rampant here.

The only real reason I still am here is the cost of living, my family, and my job/mortgage
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

It doesn't really get that cold like the east coast/midwest and it's a ****ing desert so it doesn't rain much either. I lived in phoenix before so it's similar. I agree with the bland topography/scenery tho.

2 day city but I can’t trash talk. SD is only good if you’ve already accumulated wealth. Not a place to make it.

If you have a house, you are kind stuck.

I lived in Denver Co for a few years and military dudes at the gym would tell me about going to Vegas. The one guy as like, I spent 5k on alcohol and it was awesome.

I could not understand the mindset of what type of action. For just the price of drinks you could tour the world and have massive luxury.

As a side note, many people in Denver would smoke weed, ski, blow their ACL out and have to get operations. I started saying to people, hey, maybe don't go skiing and need operations after, what do you think?

Las Vegas - that’s where you want to be. Swimming pools, movie stars, dykes, *******s, pimps, hookers, mass murderers, drug addicts, alcoholics, degenerate gamblers. Great place to bring up a family, huh?

ugh years back i had a corporate trip to Vegas and they made us all go to Cirque du Soleil "O". OMG it was awful. the first 15 minutes was interesting but then it just dragged on and on and on. i was dying. i couldn't wait for it to end so i could go back to the bar and talk to girls. never again.

Yea I was born and lived a small portion of my childhood in California but I’ve practically lived in Vegas my whole life. I know this city like the back of my hand srs

Try and embrace it more. Vegas isn't all sin and ****ery. World class restaurants, world class shows, great hiking nearby. I've heard Lake Tahoe is cool.

I also live in Vegas just on the edge with Henderson.

Here is why I love about Vegas:

1) Good weather almost year round. Yes it gets phucking hot in the summer but you adjust to it for the most part. I am good up to 105 degrees now. It's mostly sunny here year round and we rarely worry about snow. It doesn't rain that much here.

2) Cheap cost of living. Wife and I bought our house for $250K

3) Lots of stuff to do (good restaurants, sports, concerts, festivals)

4) A lot of other destinations are within 4 hour drive

5) Proximity to some interesting nearby outdoor stuff (Mt Charleston only 40 mins away, Lake Mead 20 mins depending where you live, Red Rock 20 mins).

What do you recommend RN with the all the Covid phuckery despite living here I hardly leave the house cause most things don’t appeal to me.

Lol, yep. It only took one close call on my knee before I said "**** no" to skiing. I still have a kneecap that awkwardly moves while squatting from one ski accident like 10 years ago. Haven't skiied since, and it's not something I miss a single bit. More of a hassle than it's worth.

I actually think I would enjoy living in Vegas for a year or two, just because it's a city where you can do things spontaneously and solo if needed. Obviously you'd have to learn tricks to saving money, whether it be going to places off the strip or knowing bouncers and bartenders at clubs. But at the very least you could post up in a sportsbook for a Saturday and not spend a ton of cash, so it's not like you're completely bumming out at home.

The last time I was there, I literally spent $1000 each day for 3 days straight on Drinks/Gambling/Clubs. I don't have a ton of interest in actually going there as a tourist anymore, but living there could be dooable.

The most I ever spent on betting was 6 dollars, lol!

I would need to check into a hospital if I spent 3k in three days on any form of entertainment. It would make me insane. I would feel like I was getting it directly to Morty Epstein or whoever owns the place.

I am just amazed that people do it.

I used google drive, not sure if that still exists, to see what the drive from Denver to Vegas would be like, it seemed like being on the moon only with air, lol. I am from the east coast and we have fairly lush forests and all of that. I had trouble not being around it when I lived in Denver so I cannot imagine being in Vegas.

I'm a psychotherapist and wonder what the Vegas clients would be like. That would probably be fun.
