What style jacket?

I'm going to pick up one of these jackets...they are exactly alike except for the collar...same brand/leather/etc just different collar.

Which one should I get? I like the moto style but already have a black moto jacket so leaning toward the one with the traditional collar...

Had trouble with the image link with the brown Moto jacket...same jacket but brown.

First one, but I’d look for one with less pieces of leather stitched together...makes it look like a cheap puzzle put together with scrapes.

Ouch lol but I see where you're coming from. It's actually really soft lambskin, I saw the moto version of it in person and it is soft as hell. Lightweight too, which is hard to find with a leather jacket (I'm in SoCal so it's perfect for me). Definitely felt like a quality jacket.

I like the first one. I personally feel a man’s jacket looks more balanced with a collar.

In that case I prefer the collar on the second jacket. It’s a little more sleek and stylish IMO.

If you’re looking for something more traditional and less fashion forward then the first collar for sure.

But they are both good. Im just going based on my own personal preferences and what I believe would look better on me.

Yeah I do think the cropped collar (moto style) is more fashion forward/trendy. But I already have a black one that style which is the main reason I'm leaning toward the first pic/full collar...but I'm not sold on liking it.

No collar is good for padding out your torso with weight, while the collar effect helps for volume.

More volume is better for people who are in regular flight from place to place and it isn't worth it to be form fitted. It's not tight, but it doesn't matter, because whatever you're doing (while needing to be warm) is cool in itself.


More form fitting is better if you are trying to avoid vaguely gestured clothing and can bear the smaller fit. It's a uniform that presents you as nice as possible.

Thanks for your input, repped.

The fit of the jacket is exactly the same between the two...they just have different collars. It may present a different aesthetic but the actual fit on the torso would be the same with either jacket (fairly snug/fitted).

Yeah I have a black one like the second pic...but it's a pretty heavy leather, so I think I'll get a lot more use out of this new jacket in my warm climate as it's much lighter...ultimately I agree it makes more sense to have variety but in the end I want the one I like the most...and I can't decide.

ah that's right, forgot you were getting a new one cuz of how heavy the current is.

in that case...i'd probably go for the 2nd pic version. also depends on how expensive/long lasting this jacket will be. If it's one of those items that will last you forever, you might wanna go with the classic first pic style. if it's a cheapo light leather jacket you will probably replace within a couple years, 2nd pic.
