If you had to list one band that is underrated or at the very least

Does not get any where near tbe praise they deserve what band would that be?

Lets make it two bands.

I understand among milllinails that the smiths are some how worshiped. My gf is 26 and thats what she tells me.

But i do know back in the 80s and 90s they were extremely underrated

Do yourself a favour and listen at least until 1m30s. This is their best song imo but all their albums are good. Not a single song you feel like skipping.

Most respected musicians with say King's X. Not only one of the most underrated bands of all time, but IMO, one of the best bands of all time. I don't like the Beatles, but think of them as a hard rock/heavy metal version of the Beatles.

I would second Cake, even though they’ve had a long career and plenty of exposure. They don’t really get the recognition they deserve.



Not sure about others, but I think it’s easier to list underrated albums. It’s hard for a band to fly under the radar when they put out multiple good albums, but plenty of bands put out amazing albums that didn’t get a lot of love. Two of the first ones that come to mind would be:

Stabbing Westward- Wither, Blister, Burn, and Peel


Hum- You’d Prefer an Astronaut




Two of the best albums of the 90’s that lots of people have never really listened to.

dinosaur jr doesn't get mentioned a lot for grunge/alt rock of the 80s/90s, nirvana always dominates that conversation and alice in chains, pearl jam, and soundgarden a lot as well. pixies have always been underrated for that as well but still get a lot more attention than dinosaur jr.
