Op did you take care of it yourself, buy into a fund or just have a broker?
what has your average annual return been as %?
What markets have perfomed bets for you?

I really appreciate seeing someone else track their net worth. I've been updating mine every other month since 2016. Will be interesting to look back on when I'm retired.

If you just go by annual balance growth, probably 15% over that time.
I had us invested very aggressively (no bonds) until 2015, and then still only had maybe 20% bonds. Now 60% bonds & cash. Tech funds, Healthcare funds, Growth funds. Nothing exotic.

Sorry didn’t read replies since I’m on my way to the gym but...
How do you have that much in an IRA? That’s literally impossible because of the yearly limits.
How old are you? And what do you do for work?
Congrats!

I made no indication this was directed at OP.
Hopefully OP was able to do a job he enjoys and live a fulfilled life with full of adventure and excitement.
It’s just a comment on the status quo so many people adopt. Work your ass of when young taking 1-2 vacations per year not necessarily doing something you love, so you can settle down, go into debt with a mortgage and then eventually retire at 60 plus.
This is the path I’m on and it sucks.

I have a question for you OP.
You are 62 with 2 million in the bank. Ok. I don't care if it is true or not, I will just assume it is. So my question is why here? Why come into a bodybuilding website filled with people a third of your age to say so? What is the payoff? Are you here to get into shape? to lose weight? Are you here to reconnect with something? My question has grown exponentially because, giving truth to your topic, the true question lies in why you made this thread at all.

I realized I hate the corporate world as well and don’t have the personality for it. Too defiant, hate the mundane so I’ve fully immersed myself into the passive income line of thinking. I have a project on the go and some money to invest in it. Maybe it’ll pay off but if not I’ll fine tune, adjust and try indefinitely with a very healthy appetite for risk.
