I always think the whole circumcision thing is a weird conversation to have. For starters, sure, I wouldn't mind letting people decide if they wanted to make that decision as an adult.

For me, there has never been any traumatic association with the way my penis looks, nor do I feel like my penis casts me as a societal outsider. Thusly, you consider it much more than somebody who is circumsized.

Much of the benefit for circumsizing rests solely at the stage of life where you are newly born. But there are certainly benefits for adults, like reduced risk of certain inflammations, zero risk of phimosis, no buildup, reduced risk of STIs and UTIs, but again, that doesn't mean that it is a thing that must be done universally.

Just some things to think about.

I don't think "facetious" means what you think it means. No one calls it mutilation as an attempt to write it off as a joke. People are quite serious to call it mutilation and that's cause it actually is. You also offered no valid argument for how it is not mutilation. It being a "common cultural practice" and not remembering the experience are irrelevant.

Also disagree with generalized statement about opinionated uncircumcised brahs having some sort of traumatic feelings associated to being different. I didn't even really know the difference til learning about it on the misc and i had already slept with many women by that point who never knew the difference either. Might be the case with older generations who had the locker room experience as kids and would get made fun of maybe? As a city kid who went to public schools though, i never had that experience.

If i have any strong opinions on circumcision now, it's not cause I spend any considerable amount of time thinking about it, but because whenever the topic does come up it continues to blow my mind that it's still a widely accepted practice.

^^^ This. Again, I have absolutely nothing against people cutting off part of their dinks if it makes them happy. Nobody does though. Apart from muslims who do it later in life, circumcising only happens through mutilating non-consenting babys.

There is no real medical benefit to it that would even remotely justify such a horrible practice. And it does irreversible damage to the sensitivity of your dink.
