The fit of the jacket is exactly the same between the two...they just have different collars. It may present a different aesthetic but the actual fit on the torso would be the same with either jacket (fairly snug/fitted).

in that case...i'd probably go for the 2nd pic version. also depends on how expensive/long lasting this jacket will be. If it's one of those items that will last you forever, you might wanna go with the classic first pic style. if it's a cheapo light leather jacket you will probably replace within a couple years, 2nd pic.

Well I got both jackets...was a little surprised to find them more different than I thought they'd be, besides just the collar.
Jacket 1 (traditional collar) was much stiffer and felt a little heavier - even though they are made of the same leather and sewn almost identically. Jacket 2 felt much softer as if it was tanned differently or already broken in...not sure if they were made differently or if the softer one was maybe already worn and returned and the stiffer one was brand new...it was a big difference so not sure if a little wear and tear short term would do that.
Also Jacket 1 fit much tighter despite being same size from the same brand - again, could be from the leather just being tighter/stiffer.
All in all - Jacket 2 fit much better and was softer so I'm going to keep it despite actually liking the collar on Jacket 1.
