Why can’t I make myself study consistently?

I’m a pretty smart guy and I understand everything I’m taught. However, when it comes to study, I can’t do study for more than 1 week straight.

I just find it so damn boring. Since I have ADHD, I get bored in class and am eager to get out of class often. Once out of class, I’m at the gym, I’m on PS4, playing soccer, etc. But something is so chitty about sitting down and studying for 3 hours. I have to use willpower to force myself to study for 1 week straight.

Why do I get so down when I realise I have a full week of uni left? How do people enjoy this?

Yeah, it sucks. I remember in college my mind being blown when you would see people in the library seriously studying for hours.

I managed to get through a Masters, but when I tried to take the CPA exams...my major lack of study discipline really started to show. You sure as hell don't need to be a genius, but you do really need to study and seriously learn the material.

I ended up working in a different field where a CPA is irrelevant though, so phuck those exams.

Bro, literally. I could walk into the library at any time and there would be like 500 people studying for hours on end.

Humans are supposed to hunt animals for like 1 hour a day, make a camp fire, and transport water back to your campsite. There is nothing natural about studying or working, or living in a city. It's why everyone is killing themselves.

Very true. I feel the people that are able to sit down and study for hours a day for weeks on end have been trained that way as a little child. Like especially us men are meant to get up and hunt. Not sit in a chair for 2 hours listening to a boring lecture and then heading to the library to study for another 2 hours.

Studying isnt enjoyable, you're doing it because you have an end goal which is to get good grades, that should be your motivation to do it ..... It legit sucks, but end of the day you just need to suck it up serious, unless you're severely depressed and gone into a no fuk given mode.

What you can do is make it more enjoyable .... Study for 30 mins, break for 10 and repeat it like that in blocks. If you're taking notes then just add weird chit to it like " In economics, when the price of a good falls, then there is a movement along the fuarking curve and if it's anything other than price it's a shift nomsayin" - Use that pretty sparingly or else your notes will look retarded, I tend to do stuff like that for something which is more complicated or I definitely need to memorize rather than understand the concept.

Very true. I mainly study so I can feel good about getting a grade better everyone else. But the thing is, I genuinely don’t find interest in what I’m doing or where it’s taking me. I’m doing medical science leading to medicine soon.

I want to be surgeon in a way, but it’s not something I think of a lot. So yeah. I would prefer engineering, because I like designing and learning how things work, but it won’t pay as well as a doctor.

Yeah, I guess it’s always gonna suck but I am depressed. Been that way for a while. Thing is I always think that I can put it off and then bring up my grades later to make an A. Maybe I should tackle that.

I’m neither of those, friend. I have strong willpower and most of my days are pretty whack. I still get through it and get through things most people give up in.

Also, I understand the content very quickly and can teach it to others in an understandable way. So really I have no idea what you’re talking about.

I’m not your friend, and you’re clearly unable to succeed. THATS SAD!!!

Pretend to study all you want, you’re destined to be a FAILURE!

PATHETIC!!!

Lol. Okay now I know you’re a troll. I’ll ignore you from now on. I hope maybe you can stop being a failure yourself.
