Legit thinking about becoming sober for life.
Haven't had a drop of alcohol since February but also due to COVID with bars being hot spots and alcohol weakening the immune system.
I've been more into boosting my immune system, trying to still make gains and eat healthy.
I kinda like it, kind of debating on going sober for the rest of my life -- I've been drunk and had horrible hangovers before, but also know my limits now.
Anyone else feeling this?

Yea I've thought the same thing lately. I start feeling a headache from the first drink it seems like and it's just not as enjoyable as it was when I was younger. Plus I was never much of a bar person

Since COVID i've had maybe 3 heavy drinking events all of which has resulted in my insulting those im out with or getting overly aggressive. Made me realise i'm no longer drinking for enjoyment and just that it's "what you do".
I've had to have a break to reassess. Learn how to go to bars/pubs without drinking while others are. I calculated that i havent been somewhere that serves alcohol and not had a beer in almost a decade srs.
I didn't really get hangovers, moreso tired from getting to bed at 4am and up at 7am still chitfaced.
I'm hoping to get back to a spot where drinking is a pleasure and lubricates a social event. Not just seeing who can drink the most and 1/2 of nights turn into a screaming match with coworkers lmao.

Do it, man.
I started with doing a sober month, then a sober two months, then a sober year.
After the year I was like, phuck this, going on 6 years without a drop now.

Although my tolerance for drunk people is practically zero now whereas the first few years, I didn't mind being around them while sober.
Also, am I alone in phucking hating the smell of wine now?

well, i guess i have 0 problem controlling alcohol. i'm either immune or have it so far deep down in my psyche to not become addicted that i've never come close
i would want to keep it as the occasional stress reliever; get loose, have a good time

ask yourself if you really need it...what does it really do for you?
2:136
Say, ˹O believers,˺ We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.

I've gone dry a few a times while lifting. The thing that is most noticeable to me is that your body still needs those calories that alcohol was supplying, when you replace them with food, the results are almost unbelievable.
Wish I could could crawl out of these beer cans and into tuna cans.

Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

I’ve been realizing I need to cut way back. My tolerance is so high that it takes me a lot to even get a buzz. I got a bottle of nice bourbon for my birthday and it was gone in about two weeks. I also tend to argue when I drink and that’s fun for nobody. Plus, maybe I’ll see more gains.
