Suggesting things that nobody is going to do just shows how out of touch these people are with reality. If people aren't wearing masks now, why would they wear them in their own home? Most people I see wear them when appropriate and then remove them when they are by themselves. Expecting much more than this is silly especially with vaccines right around the corner (hopefully).

Right? There have been multiple reports of people testing positive and negative the same day.

My daughter had to get tested due to being in contact with someone who was near a COVID+. They test her, she gets her results back, and it's negative, but they say she still needed to quarantine 14 days because it could be a false negative and the tests are 65% accurate. So she had to take another test and get a negative to be clear, which she did.

We are basing EVERYTHING off case numbers, and the accuracy of these cases is highly suspect.

Yea Walmart said nationally they are not enforcing mask rules and I asked my local Acme about it cause the kid wasn't at the door anymore - they told me you can shop without a mask but if you need employee assistance, they can't help you unless you put one on - so you need one to go to the deli counter or checkout. You can use self checkout without a mask but like he said, almost no one can get a full trip through self checkout without needing an employee to unfreeze the machine.

I'll give them credit, they were hiking without their masks but they were trying to quickly put them on for when my daughter and I passed. I didn't even have one with me. But I also wear the neck gaiter that they say is completely ineffective, but trying to get the "real" mask on over my beard is ridiculous.

Human beings are hopeless panic-cels. I get the sense that these wishy-washy regulations are put in place to maintain the illusion that the government is 'doing something to address this.' In the end, I'm sure not even the experts really know the full extent of the virus and what it's capable of. There's been so much back and forth. Masks work. Oh wait, no they don't. Hold on, I take that back - masks do work. It's all over the fukin place. But I guess they think it's the best possible scenario to create the illusion of hope so people don't start buying out all the ass wiping paper again and selfishly load up their doomsday bunkers because they're panicking so much.

Yea I don't know if you followed WSM but one competitor (can't remember who) tested neg before flying to FL. Then got a pos test one night, the followup test was neg. Then the next morning he had a negative test then a positive test so he had to go home. Brian Shaw came out, everything was fine. He stayed in "the bubble" they set up for the athletes - meaning he was only in the hotel or at the event and only around other athletes and employees who were all tested. Saturday night he tested pos. Immediate follow up test was neg. The "overnight" test (whatever that is) was negative and his final test was negative. But I am sure that impacted his sleep for the night cause his second day was not great.

Yeah I was following and it was ridiculous. I understand a lot of these venues/events/sports are at the mercy of the state government, so they are doing whatever they can to keep going forward, but at some point some common sense needs to come into play.

And that brings up a great point cause the NFL is doing it too under the guidance of however many states have teams - if you test positive, they retest you. So they know the tests can produce false positives.

Last night I came home from the gym and sat on my couch alone in my house wearing a mask (in PA) wondering when or how or who was going to let me know when I can take it off. I mean these rules and regulations are put there for a reason, to protect you from me and from me from you. But who decides each day when I'm safe enough to go upstairs and take it off to go to bed? Man this is so confusing


Well I look at it this way ... at least last night my cat was safe. We will do the same thing tonight until this order is over.
