2008 when I decided to not be a fat HS senior. Joined to use all the other sections then just spent 99.9% of my time here. Kinda hard to believe now, but before all the incel chit etc there were threads here that made me laugh harder than any tv show or movie.

I agree with this. I've been around since around 2007-ish (can never remember my other screennames or PW) and The Misc had something the Incels wanted: The info on how to get girlfriends or sex, etc. So they showed up here in droves.

Up until a couple of years ago, we all tried to help them, but they would never listen and kept making BS excuses as to why self improvement and confidence and DGAF attitude wouldn't work, etc. A few reformed and can be normal and have relationships now, but most just sort of fizzled out and eventually settled in the reddit hive mind of self-defeatism.

Man, the Misc used to be savage. Memes were created here and copied by Reddit et al. Now it's the other way around.

I think the facial aesthetics phase turned a lot of people off, it was so annoying. Every post was either some facial aesthetics bullchit or taken over by the facial aesthetics trolls. I know I quit miscing for years around then. Same thing is starting to happen now with the tradie stuff. Chit gets old, quick.

Do yourself a favour, don't look at misc's status on Google trends. Depressing.
