How to stay positive during this time?
Honestly, would love some perspective and advice on how people are dealing with the new reality of life and staying positive because i have really started to struggle. Worked pretty hard over the last few years to battle my depression and tendency to have some really dark thoughts but this year has really made me regress on that front and I feel like I’m starting to lose the battle.

For me, I find enjoyment in the first few sips of cold brew after I wake up.
Petting dogs, going to the gym, eating things like pizza -- they all bring you joy and even offer a release.
There is a lot to be grateful for, you just have to open your eyes and see it all around you.
If you ever find yourself ever getting overwhelmed at times, just remember that it's just temporary and the feeling will subside.

same srs
i acknowledge everything that I feel(and know it's not normal) but all I can think is the negatives and think what's the point?
annoying part is that when I go out with friends/family etc. I feel completely normal, when I am isolated at home my thought turn dark
still working from home has ****ed me over bad
not even close to suicidal or anything but I really want to get better

What's your positive outlet? You should be MAXXING that as hard as possible.
I've been trying to identify activities that increase my mental health and going hard AF. e.g. my dog is the best dog ever (anyone else who says that is WRONG), so I've been taking her to lakes, dog parks, nature walks, pet stores, bars, and anywhere else where she's allowed. Always feel DOPAMINEMAXXED after that.

I maintain my composure by doing intense cardio like running, cycling or rowing.
Running produces the best result because the runner's high calms me down.

Make sure you have the basics absolutely locked down. Get enough sleep. Zero chit food. Exercise. Maintain ties. Try to be around people. Set SMART goals (look up the acronym). Reward yourself by doing things you enjoy (sit down and come up with things if you have to). Write in a journal daily to process and reflect on what's going on in your head.

ITT once its all over whenever that is, all the highs will feel higher. You need lows to feel highs, need a reference point. Its something you know is situational, and at some point youll come out the other side of if you wait it out. Ik for me all the seemingly dumb **** I used to take for granted will be much more appreciated and the experience will be much better post-COVID

I've been through other negative eras. I know that negativity is just counter productive. Everything happens for a reason. This too shall pass. Right now, we are living through a crazy time, and when it's all over people are going to talk about it.

OP, you are asking how to stay positive, huh?
Here in misc, people usually don't get this many positive supports when posting a cope thread like this.
It seems you don't have to worry about that any more since there must be already something really good/positive in your heart which appealed to their conscience.

I'm proud of you.

Are you doing bare minimum 30 minutes cardio every day?
Are you staying busy? When you’re balls deep in an engaging activity, you have zero time or headspace for negative thoughts.
Something that achieves both of the above for me are mountain biking and skiing.
And in my downtime, looking forward to those activities keeps me going.
It’s only when I stop doing stuff, lay down and Rot etc, that I start to feel down and sad.
Good luck bro
Pls respond
