Just normal conversation when she brought up how the relationship was going overall on text. I think she took it too seriously like i was actually proposing to her. It was off the cuff of sorts like a progress report. not a final verdict. now she is probably thinking i will propose or sum chit

she enthusiastically agreed but I did not ask her a question I just made a statement. keep in mind this is only 9 months in. shes 30 im 28

so I immediately downplayed it by saying "if things continue going like this over time blah blah" I'm the kind that thinks over time is a few years though. Guess I should clarify that at some point

9 months is not too long but really you’re the only person who knows how your relationship is so it’s hard to judge that.

You really don’t know how enthusiastic she was or wasn’t since this conversation was over text which is why I said it was a mistake for that reason. And just in general talking about anything meaningful to this extent over text is just hard for me to comprehend tbh.

it was unmistakably enthusiastic for a text. She checks all the boxes but have to see how it holds up over time, very submissive/malleable to my influence and goes with my flow so this could be an excellent test if it comes up, I can say I absolutely feel like if things continue as they are we will get married after a couple of years together and gauge her reaction.

“A few years” to her means she’s gonna be 32-33. And if you don’t decide then she has to start all over. That means another guy that says “a few years. Now she’s looking 34-36. That time pressure gets to people.
