I have nowhere to shoot my pellet rifle
I used to pull off the side of a road in the state forest 40 minutes from here and walk in a bit and shoot at cardboard target. I always cleaned up after myself and never shot toward any trails or anything. Well the wildlife officer told me I can't shoot now it unless it is hunting season and I have a tag to hunt but the only thing you can hunt with it is squirrel on 3 days a year. And if he sees me again he said I will get charged with a crime and arrested. He took all my info and made notes or something on his computer.
If I shoot it in my back yard my neighbors will call the cops.
Fuk living in this urban **** hole. I need to get some land asap.
edit: I need to sight in this scope I got for it. And the range here is appointment only and I called and asked if I could use it there and he laughed and said no sorry

Know that feel. Looking to move to a place where I can’t even see my neighbor for the same reason.

You don't need to shoot it because you will shoot your eye out.

Setup a range indoors. Lead pellets won’t bounce off a metal plate. Just have some ventilation in your basement.

I shot a bird in my neighbors yard when I was like 9 and they called the cops. Cops told me since it was an air rifle, I wasn’t in trouble however it was a protected species and they let me off the hook with that part.

In Pennsylvania you can’t shoot targets on game lands.
The guy sounds like a dick though. An air rifle and isn’t going to bother anything or do damage.
I have a few of them as well... they are considered “toys” by people who are into regular guns but even .22s cost more to shoot.

I have a .17 barrel I can swap with and I have more .17 rounds stocked but I found that it is less accurate because of the shock of going through the sound barrier. I think that is the reason. Or maybe I didnt put it on right or cant adjust the sights right to compensate for the less weight. But it .177 barrel is way louder for some reason.
The pellets used to cost $6 for 500 .22 pellets. But now they want $10 for 500 of the cheapest and like $20 for 250 of the good ones
I dont care what people say but it does get annoying when people laugh and say get a real rifle. I have real rifles. Everything has its purpose. I am not gonna hunt squirrels with a 5.56 round.

If it is breaking the sound barrier you’ll hear a loud crack... it’s 100% un mistakable.

A real rifle.
Brah, legal or not I shot my first duck, rabbit, grouse, squirrel, woodcock, raccoon, and a pile of other stuff with my .22 cal pellet gun.
Good luck finding a place to shoot it

If there's any farms around you might ask a farmer if he'd let you shoot rats.
They're fun little fukkers to shoot.

Throw an oil filter on for suppression and just shoot in your back yard

You can also try to get a ticket to do it on "managment area" land thats owned by a water company but its the same thing. Only like 15 people during very small season like 3 days in a year.
I hope soon I can afford 2+ acres in a forest somewhere but I don't have a lot of money and everywhere seems to have so many rules. Have to have a full concrete slab foundation for example in almost all of missouri and a lot of the land for sale is in a subdivision that has their own stupid bylaws. Was thinking about maybe Maine but I don't have a 4wd truck just a 2 wheel drive and I know it gets muddy there.

I'm in a similar dilemma currently. Bought a Ruger 22. Went to indoor range, but it is too loud. Not far away enough from houses that I can shoot it in my backyard. Pretty sure we would technically be classified as being "in the city". Don't know anyone that has a ton of land that they would let me shoot on that live close by. It has been collecting dust in the corner of my room since I bought it. Only shot it once at the indoor range where I suffered hearing loss for a week
