My parents ordered me Starcade '98 for Xmas when I was 11, and seeing Goldberg's streak end in such a lame way was sort of crushing, but it was also pretty cool (Scott Hall dressed as secruity with the taser, followed by Jacknife powerbomb by Big sexy)



Have been to a few PPV's live later in life to try and drum up some nostalgia (went to SummerSlam 2016, Extreme Rules 2016, Wrestlemania 2019)

I never realized people seriously watched this stuff. The guys seem like jokes. They're not built right with so much extra size in the wrong places to look good. They're not doing anything actually athletic or even acting well. They're not even competitive powerlifters/strongmen. Just rednecks who destroyed their bodies to look worse than a druggie and pretend in front of children.

I disagree, many people were very athletic/were successful in high level sports before becoming a wrestler. Goldberg for example was in the NFL for a short time and was extremely agile for his size, doing rolls and cart wheels and you could just tell that he had that explosive speed for someone that big. Brock lesnar was a former all-american wrestler, kurt angle won the wrestling olympics in 96, etc. Of course there were a bunch of cell tech abusers/junkies in wrestling, but I wouldn't say they were all bad.

yeah people that call wrestling "fake" always pissed me off, like obviously the storylines are scripted but you can't really fake getting slammed into oblivion, jumping 30 feet into a table or getting a chair slammed over your head 10,000 times lol. Concussions galore
