Deadlift is going down the drain (srs)
Every other lift has increased over the past 5 months, except for my deadlift which I think has actually decreased. A weight that I could do for a set of 5 back then wouldn't even budge off of the floor today.
Half the time I deadlift, as soon as I bend down and straighten out my back, stomach acid wants to shoot up my throat (srs). I think this is holding me back cause sub-consciously I know if I brace my abs hard it'll cause me to throw up in my mouth.
Some days its not a problem and I can deadlift OK. The variation in strength when this happens and doesn't happen is large.
Fuk this chit srs
Reps if anyone else has had this problem and has a solution

That isn't normal, see a doctor. That is GERD but if it gets triggered so easily everytime you strain, your eso****eal sphincter is loose , no homo. Warrants medical investigation.

What does your gym week look like?
Could also be your belt is too tight, or what you are eating / drinking preworkout

Dont listen to these guys. Wtf does a doctor know? Hes just going to tell you to stop lifting, or do 7000 tests to tell you something you dont want to hear. Just power through it.

At the least he can get acid inhibitors prescribed, which will help a lot by themselves. He might also need an endoscopy to rule out other stuff.

This only happens during deadlifts when I wear a belt. Squats or RDLs or anything never triggers it. Even deficit deadlifts don't trigger it for some reason

I have started to wear my belt a notch looser than on squats and I think it kinda helps. The belt feels pretty much completely loose when standing up but when bent over it has a little tightness
I also use straps on top sets so I have to stay bent over a little longer than otherwise

In the past I've usually done squats first then DL afterwards but recently I flipped and do DLs first if they're in the workout. Is it possible to be stronger on DLs if you've squatted first? Makes no sense but its one difference

don't eat a big meal at least a few hours before you deadlift, just eat something small before you go to the gym.
for me personally, it's a combo of fats/carbs in a large amount that gets my stomach churning during deadlifts. For example pizza is absolutely a no go for me before deadlifts.

lol I know exactly what you're talking about OP and it's really nothing. It happens to me when I deadlift from time to time if I'm going heavy and drank a bunch of water before.

I used to feel like that when I was eating a lot of fried foods but I cut back on the fried foods and that feeling stopped. Check your diet OP.

99 percent sure this is it.
Did 3 sets of RDLs today near the end of my workout. I do a regular DL to get the weight off of the floor to start the set. The first working set was just fine. I got really thirsty after the set and drank some water. Then when starting the second set I wanted to puke as soon as I grabbed the bar

Do you drink coffee before your deadlift workouts.
I don’t get this with deadlifts but I have in the past with pendlay rows.
