Tradies: whats a good workboot?

I keep destroying shoes building stuff in the garage. I weld/fabricate a lot and do a lot of wood work. What's a good boot that won't disintegrate after 4 months?

Amblers are the best for my work (offshore energy tradie)

They lace up, but have a zip also for quick slip on and off.

The salt doesn’t wreck them, they’re comfy and watertight.
Not ideal for really hot climate but this time of year a godsend.

Avoid DeWalt as they’re total garbage.

as someone who's burned through about 5 pairs of dakotas before finally discovering timberland pros, do not buy dakota (my dakota boots last a few months on average, my 400 dollar extreme cold boots lasted 1.5 months in extreme cold)

I will say though that my boots are used for climbing hundreds of feet of thin steel all day every day and go through some serious abuse, but dakota just aren't made well

Not a Tradie but have to visit jobsites.

IF you are full time Tradie then Redwing is THE GOLD STANDARD, but they do require some break in.
If you're like me and need to visit sites occasionally then I prefer Wolverine. A couple of their pairs are still made in the USA and they don't require as much break in and are high quality.
Unless I have to be on site all day though I switched to hiking boots. By far the most comfortable to walk and stand in all day with ankle support.
*Updated* If you can't hit a 320 yard drive, are you even a man?
