Miscers in the never marry crew, who will you leave your will to?

Say you get a serious illness in old age and have saved your wealth over the years.
But:

You're single
No wife
No kids
No siblings
Parents long since passed

Who you gonna leave that wealth, house and car etc to?

Great care is expensive. I would spend anything I had left on maximizing my quality of life.

In the scenario you painted - I'd split it between my bestfriend (if she is still alive) / the dog org I volunteer for (if they're still around).

In real life... It was an odd thing having to think about this when I went to have my will done with my lawyer.

My bestfriend is the executor of my will. (We grew up together known her since the 6 grade - was MOH at her wedding blah blah) - She has a copy of it.

There's $ set aside for funeral expenses and funeral directions. Legit told my executor she cannot let anyone attend who doesn't show up in full clown outfit and make up. My funeral is gonna be lit with a bunch of crying clowns. lmao She was super pissed when she read that part and told me I was ridiculous.

If I didn't have my own family I'd probably just have all my stuff split between my bastards that prove themselves through a DNA test

It just wouldn't be very 'me' if something ridiculous didn't happen down to the very end. None of my close friends would be surprised either when they get the invite.

When I was working a poverty entry level position out of college and moonlighting as a bartender for a 2nd job. I became chummy with a regular that always came in that would chat and spent a lot of time there. (This was in DC so it was full of fancy old dudes who drank a lot). About 2ish years in I saw him less and less. He told me he was sick and wanted to put me in his will to leave me something since he didn't have any family and was divorced with no children. He gave me his lawyers card and told me to call the guy to give him my details. We set up a meeting time and I freaked and never showed. I'm sure he was pissed and I didn't see him anymore after that. I was turning 23 at the time. It was a weird feeling I didn't even know this man well and I couldn't shake the feeling of maybe there were going to be strings attached somewhere. Bc when you know something is too good to be true it usually is. I still wonder what happened to him.
