It's fun and a great date but if it's the same movie you can watch at home you're only going for the fun. That's a REAL hard sell especially to lockdowncels.

if you'd opt to stay home instead of going out to a theater to see a newly released movie you've been anticipating...you're a towel

nah, seeing the movie on the big screen with no distractions is 10000000x better.
We tried the whole $20 to stream the movie with the family and all it ended up being was everyone on their phones and kids running around. Its pure cancer.
If AMC survives I am a stubs member and get good deals on tickets $5.00 tuesdays.

my gut tells me it's not gonna make much difference
the people that want go to theaters still are the same ones that will still go
the only thing that i think would kill it hard is if home theaters became super cheap enough there wasn't a significant difference between a movie theater and home theater

Warner Bros. movies launching in 2021 include “The Little Things,” “Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Tom & Jerry,” “Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Mortal Kombat,” “Those Who Wish Me Dead,” “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” “In The Heights,” “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” “The Suicide Squad,” “Reminiscence,” “Malignant,” “Dune,” “The Many Saints of Newark,” “King Richard,” “Cry Macho” and “Matrix 4.”
Pretty sure the only one I'd go to the theater for is "Dune," and I'm damn sure still going to pay to see that in theaters if possible.Movie Man

BRB all movies being pushed back to 2021 and beyond
BRB "Why isn't anyone going to the movies???"
I sware these companies are dumb af. I would gladly still go to the movies if they had anything good playing.
In b4 you have to download a special app that activates the camera in your TV so it scan how many ppl you're letting watch the movie

Haven’t been to a theater since 2008. I don’t have the attention span to watch more than 45 minutes without taking a break.

In other news, drive-in movie theaters are making a come back.
We had an old twin drive-in where I grew up that my highschool girlfriend and I used to go to for fun. We have some drive-in theaters in South Florida and apparently they have been hopping since March. Homemade food from the concession stand, eat in your car or bring some lawn chairs, and listen to the movie through the speakers in your car. It's a fun experience.

I used to like going to the movies, but the hiking of prices for tickets and snacks is just too much. I would much rather stream it at home with my nice tv and cheap food. Hopefully the new James Bond movie drops on a streaming platform soon.

last new movie i saw in theaters was Shazam with my boys and I missed part because my youngest had to pee.
it also cost me about $100 to take them.
in the summer i set up the projector with the firestick and we watch on a 100" screen with a fire, snacks/beverages and they have plenty of room to take a leak.
inside i have a meager 50".
either way i'll take it over going to the theater with my kids.
I will say though, the drive in theater was showing classics and older movies all summer.
And I did go to that a few times.
they also had Metallica and some other bands playing which I thought was some great out of the box thinking.
people inside their own cars parked with a space between to watch concerts.
perfect venue during this chit and a way to keep your business afloat.
