It’s just incredibly rare that these filmmakers don’t fuk up a great old movie and ruin it.

Off the top of my head, here’s a few of the worst offenders:

Karate Kid (Jackie Chan)
Red Dawn
Total Recall
Ghostbusters (which I refused to watch)
Bill and Ted (which I wish I had refused to watch)

There are rare exceptions like:

Cobra Kai
Oz the Great and Powerful (IMO)

But for the most part, if the original was made more than five or ten years ago, it’s going to be hot garbage.

But the weird thing is, I almost always enjoy a good song cover, and for some reason it doesn’t ruin it for me. It doesn’t have to be better than the original, it can just stand on its own merits.

Why don’t directors start remaking crappy movies, that way they can’t make it worse?
